Great replacement for my pipeline cloud sugar scoop. Easy to install, and is extremely durable doing a lot of pipe in position. Always have an extra one of these on hand.

Obviously it’s a gonna be a little on the harder side to install because you’re cutting your hood but it’s not rocket science. The gap for installing your lenses is pretty narrow but I’m not big on auto lenses. I haven’t had any lenses fall out either. Overall, it seems really well made and it allows me to grind with a hood on without safety squints. It does add weight to your hood but it’s not bad. I recommend it if you’re a diy kinda person or a single hand welder

Works really good and I love mine. Be super careful when installing it don't do like me and cut too much off one side. The back plate covers it up but not by a whole lot. It does add weight to the hood and I'm actually replacing my headgear because of it. The old racheat headgear in mine couldn't handle the weight but I was changing it out anyway. Good product just wish it was lighter and had an easier install.

Instillation was super straight forward and had a perfect fit and looks fantastic use it every day so we will see how it holds up over time. Only down side I saw was I had to trim the slot for my auto lenses, nothing a quick file couldn’t fix but other than that it was no problem.

After installing on my hood I instantly regretted it when I went to put it on and weld with it. There is a double puddle or almost like a glare when you’re welding with it. I’ve heard some people complain about it and i experienced that too. Not terrible but it is noticeable especially once you do notice it lol. It does add quite a bit of weight and it’s harder to keep it from falling down when you’re not welding and still wearing it. I’ve got Jackson headgear i fitted to it so it doesn’t have a lock position, not sure if the original fibre-metal head gear had a lock or not. The ability to flip the lens up and grind and not have to take it off and use a regular clear face shield is nice but honestly I’d rather use a clear face shield if I’m gonna be grinding for longer than a few minutes , instead of flipping the lens. I’m a union pipefitter so we grind and bevel pipe and fittings a lot so if you’re gonna be using it to do that most of the day i wouldn’t recommend it for more than a few minutes of grinding. This is really more for if you’re touching up something real quick with a grinder and don’t wanna switch to a face shield. Installation is messy you’ll get black fiberglass tar everywhere so just be aware of that and your cuts aren’t gonna be real pretty, at least mine weren’t lol but it did fit decently well just cut the entire square/rectangle out, i just took a black sharpie around the edges and a dremel with cut off wheel and then grind down the 4 notches inside the hood that holds the original plastic clip. Just be aware of the extra weight it’s gonna add and know you can’t reverse it if you end up not liking it!
