Considering using these for a aluminum patio cover w/a 5/8" lip.** A: 3.5 down into gutter, 1 inch across lip and then 2” down hang from top lip with a 1” hook piece **Q: Can you pull the lights tight between them? It seems like they would have some wiggle back and forth that would force you to sag the strand.** A: It likely depends on how you space them. I installed them about 12" apart and I am not seeing any sag in the lines. The hooks do not grip the wires so it really relies on providing enough support for the weight. **Q: Will these work with C9 bulbs?** A: Yes, it will hold the weight of them but they really just hold the wire so the bulbs might be pointing in different directions unless you're really careful setting up each bulb individually. They work great. The string lights I have are about 1 inch round light bulbs but they are not very heavy.
