It has actual weight to it and you cant squish and flatten it like a cheap stuffed animal. We actually had to buy a replacement because my 4 year old loves this thing (calls it his "kitty") and unfortunately our dog got into his room and gnawed the face off it one day ! I had to take off my shirt and throw it over the toy when I saw it so my son didnt notice and I swiftly ordered a replacement which we got 2 days later and my son didnt know the difference. The day we got it, my daughter was so excited and she absolutely loves it! It is soft, but sturdy enough to "stand" or hold its position when you set it down. And it appears to be good quality too.
