I wanted to be able to plug our camera (which sits on top of the TV) and another USB device without running another cable. This worked fairly well but there was more freezing than usual using Skype. I think I have just about stretched the limits of USB 2.0 so I can't fully fault the device but based on a quick test of using it vs. not using it, it does cause more problems than without it.Quality is good, easy to use. The design is sturdy although the wire seems a bit thin, might be just the material used. It does what it needs to do and only requires a USB port. Power output would be cut in half though since USB only provides so much but that shouldn't be a problem except for power hungry devices like USB powered drives and disks.
