Honest Amish Beard and Body Soap (Extra Grit)

This was really good, a really good lather when I washed my beard and it smells amazing too.

I've been using Honest Amish products for a few months now and was reluctant to buy soap specifically for my beard but decided to give it a shot. It was money well spent. I use their oil and balm as well but notice a difference in the softness of my beard when using this soap, which for me makes a big difference. My beard is very thick and wavy and this, used with the other products makes a big difference in controlling the "wild hairs". How I review: When I review a product said product automatically starts with four stars as I rarely will purchase anything below four stars. I then add and/subtract stars based on certain criteria as listed below. 1. If an item is exactly what I expected and nothing more it will receive a four star rating 2. If an item surpasses my expectations it will gain a star (5 Stars) 3. If an item goes slightly below my expectations it will lose a star (3 Stars) 4. If the instructions for the product (if needed) are poorly written (hard to understand due to language issues or grammar) or just too hard to follow it will lose a star no matter if the product meets or exceed my expectations 5. If a product is significantly below my expectations I will deduct two stars 6. It will be rare that I would give a product one star since I buy mostly items that have a 4+ rating but in rare instances there may be a good reason that even a four star product gets a one star rating from me. It could be because of customer service issues from the company but whatever the case is I will clearly explain my reason for giving a product only one star

These guy's are awesome. Everything they make is top notch. I haven't been disappointed in anything I've purchased from them. Also their Beard balls are fantastic

As soap, this is great. I love the extra grit. That grit might be the secret to why my skin feels so smooth and clean after using this soap. In terms of longevity, it's fine. I heard that this stuff lasted extra long, then someone else said it vanished after a few days. In my experience, neither. It holds up normally for any hard soap. Then there's the smell. AS other reviewers have said, it does have a strong licorice smell. I've used pine-tar soap before that other reviewers have said was way too smelly, but I loved. Also, this brand has an actual licorice soap, so I thought maybe the reviewers had gotten the wrong soap. So I was willing to give it a shot. But man, this smells. Like most smelly soaps, it's strongest right out of the box and does dissipate some after a while. But it still smells. It's not a horrible smell, but it is very reminiscent of black licorice. I didn't like it, but weirdly I have come to kind of like it as I got used to it. It lingers a little on the body after washing, but not that much. The bathroom smells of it, though. All in all, I'm not displeased but it's too smelly for me to get a second bar. It's a real shame because it's great soap. I haven't tried any of the other Honest Amish varieties yet. If the other ones are as good, even without the grit, but don't have the smell, then that would be great. But I suspect the grit is the secret sauce, and I suspect that it's the black walnut hulls they use that create the pungency, so those factors might be inseparable.

I like this soap as a beard wash. It scrubs really well and leaves your beard feeling light and clean. It smells like licorice, I personally enjoy the natural smelling fragrance and don’t find it overpowering at all. I cut it into 4 smaller cubes and find that it’s great for using in the shower as it doesn’t take up much space and is easier to get in the crevices between your jaw and neckline that way. Overall very happy and would buy again.

Great smell right through the box. Big chunk of soap.. All organic. Love Honest Amish brand. Thank you. Don't hesitate to buy this brand's products. You just cannot go wrong. Bad reviews and anyone who gives less than 5 stars is a troll and competitive knocker. Came back to edit this review for my input on first use. Fantastic. Left my head hair feeling clean and full after dried out. And my beard was also very clean and felt strong and coarse but not dried out at all. Will purchase again. Btw I cut a small corner of the soap and bathed myself three times today, lathered entire body head to toe front and back twice, not exagerating. (Maybe while showering yes) but also . Washed my hands like 3 times as well also washed my beard again separately because my dog brush up against my face and I felt contaminated.lol and I still have just enough for a quick shower to touch up important spots. Buy it now man.

I absolutely love this soap, I've showered with it 3 times so far, lathered head to toe twice each time and the writing on the soap is still very visible. It's a huge bar so the price is great for the amount you get and how long it lasts. This particular bar smells like black licorice, like really strong smell, I can smell it at the bathroom door and it's in my shower 7 feet away. I like the scent but if you hate black licorice stay clear. The grit isnt absurdly coarse either, on the finer side but still feels like its scrubbing really well. Also great in beard and doesn't leave it feeling dryed out or stiff. Definitely gonna try the slick bar next.

Fantastic service, delivered quickly. Excellent presentation and packaging. Smells fantastic and is just gritty enough to satisfy, I've used lots of beard wash products and must say this one has become number 1 after only 1 use, the fact you can use it all over makes this product superior than others.

I feel refreshed after using this soap, a nice scent and makes my beard very soft, almost like cotton.
