I'n not sure if my original foam were stuck to the headset, or had just become stuff over time, but I had to peel them off to put these pads on. That said, my original ones were almost completely worn out so there wewere exactly what I needed. They actually block out the sound around me more than my old ones, may be the poor quality of my old ones but I'm not complaining. They also don't yet feel as comfortable, but again my be the fact they are new.
