I don’t know why these guys are Saturn it’s copper clad steel…..makes no sense. If it were copper clad, it would be copper clad aluminum, not steel. But it isn’t. It’s just copper. I’ve cut a dozen of these up and they have copper, NOT CCA. Ignore the doofus’.

A stupid question: how long will I need to be a sub-woofer cable before it loses signal?

Wrong. A standard non-powered HDMI can only go up to about 49 feet. If it is powered using some sort of amplification device such as a booster or whatever you want to call it, it can reach lengths up to 980 feet of you use a powered fiber optic extender. Standard range non-powered is only 49’. So any manufacturer that says they have 100’ hdmi cables, be careful as it will have degradation.

Will this work for a 5.1 ss system? have a powered sub-woofer with speaker cable to two satellite speakers. broken pin in one, no sound.

I don't know what the 'ss' means, but this is a two-lead RCA connector coax (ie shielded) cable with Au plated connectors. Works great for me. My last cable was a cheap one and my sub would often shut down .. with this I have no problem.

what is the packaged dimensions ?

It comes in a brown cardboard box that is about7" x 7" x 3". i don't have the box any longer, so I couldn't actually measure it.
