I wanted to buy a Braun Series 7 shaver bundled with a Clean and Charge Unit but nobody, including Amazon, was willing to ship it to Hawaii. Apparently it’s considered hazardous material due to alcohol in the cleaning cartridges and can’t be shipped via air. So I bought a Series 7 740S shaver (no Clean Charge Base) from Amazon and ordered this Braun Pulsonic Clean Charge Base separately from the Shaver Outlet, an Amazon vender. The Charge Base came lickety-split and I now have a Series 7 shaver and Pulsonic Clean Charge Base for about the same price as the bundled Series 7 Shaver and base. And, yes, the 740S works perfectly with the Braun Pulsonic Clean Charge Base Unit. Of course, you’ll have to use the shaver’s power cord and supply a cleaning cartridge. As per the description, this unit is sold as a replacement part—so no accessories or instructions. Not that there’s any functions requiring instructions (unless you’ve never used a Braun shaver and charge unit before). It has a heck of a lot of pretty blue indicator lights for charge status and fluid levels. The lights are the main improvement you get over the Series 5 unit. What’s missing from the Series 7 unit is a fan to speed up the dry cycle. No biggie unless you need to shave every few hours. All in all I’m very pleased with the Braun Pulsonic Clean Charge Base: works with my 740S, reasonable price, brand new and shipped fast by Shaver Outlet.

this is the third charger/cleaner I have ordered and used. It works great. You do need to clean the charger/cleaner as it has many years worth of stubble. I shave my head also and generally use the clean and renew every shave, or most of the time. No matter how much I clean the charger they do only last a few years. It gives you the warning that you are out of cleaner. Clean it out and it works for a few days. Have used the canned air and removed all of the hairs. Disappointed it only last a few years but substantially cheaper than the 4 times pricier braun shaver. Small price to pay since the braun shaver, 799, is better than the other electric shavers I have tried. Shipper got it here quickly. Will buy again in another few years

Old base was causing overflow of a new cartridge, but then again, it was 15+ years old. New base showed me just how bad the old one was!

Bottom line: 2nd one gone bad and counting. Background: I ordered the replacement as the original one died after 2 years of minimal use, i.e. once or twice a month. The cleaner's lights came on but nothing else worked. Then, the lights flashed an error code but no way to remedy it or repair the unit. Ordered 2nd unit thinking it would work and hold up. After about the same time, it, too failed. This time, the cleaner pump wouldn't work. Nothing appeared wrong. After checking connections and everything that could be faulty, nothing appeared wrong. It charges ok and the shaver runs but none of the cleaning fluid is pumped up through the head assembly as it should be. When working properly, it cleans nicely. Replacing the spent cleaner cartridges keeps the unit working properly and the heads clean. There is no warranty but we will contact Braun to see if they will replace the unit but after 2 years, not holding my breath. I actually have better results cleaning the shaver with some liquid hand soap, a soft brush, and gentle tap water, being careful not to get it into the shave body. Then a quick drying and application of Remington's "Shaver Saver" spray sharpens the heads. It should be noted that the cleaning fluid gets dirty long before the cartridge is spent and should be changed out sooner and are very expensive. The shaver is not as sharp after using the Braun cleaner then a simple cleaning as described above. The shaver is the 7 series and does a great job but Braun needs to revise their cleaners and their longevity. Not sure they are worth the effort but the shaver is high quality and works well. Not sure the cleaner is even necessary.

So much cheaper than a new razor: the Braun Replacement Clean & Charge Base for Pulsonic and Select Series 7 Shavers works perfectly for types 5671, 5673, 5674, 5692, 5693, 5694, 5695, 5696, 5697. And the black color gives it a nice modern look. While it doesn't have the quick clean option, it does exactly what it is supposed to do.

Finding this device for a twenty year old shaver wasn't easy and when I found this and it said "works with Braun 9595" I was skeptical. Not only is it the absolute right cleaner, working perfectly, it also arrived four days earlier than the (free) delivery estimate said it would. Great Job! I'll buy from ShaverOutlet again.

My old cleaner finally carts it but this new one is almost exactly the same. Remember to retain your old electric connector from the original unit as it’s not provided.

Nothing to dislike about this unit. Uses the charging cable that comes with your shaver. When in the cradle it trickle charges so no heat and over charging. Washes and dry's very well. Great unit.

Best way to keep your Braun Razor looking and working like new. Would not be without this Pulsonic Clean and Charge Base
