My wife had an old mac book pro. It is 14 years old now. A few years ago it quit charging and I was sad because it is a great computer with retina screen and everything. Well I got my wife a new mac book which she likes, but I bought this charger to see if that was the problem and it was. Now 3 years later I'm still using this computer. It works fine. The battery doesn't hold a charge for a real long time but I just plug it in and charge it up.

this is actually a really good dupe for the apple charger. you can’t use it with an extension like you can with the apple one but it’s really great quality and works perfectly. i highly recommend!

The wires broke at the plug going into the computer AGAIN! Defensively a weak spot for Apple! This one has more strain relief at the plug so it may last longer, HOWEVER, this isn't like the OEM Apple chargers where you can replace the plug w/ a plug on a cord; you're stuck w/ plugging it directly into the outlet or extension cord.
