Dead Girls Can't Tell Secrets

I purchased this in 2022, put it on a shelf, and forgot about it. Well, I took it to the beach with me 3 days ago and WOW! It was truly an amazing read. I finished it in less then 72 hours, and definitely would have finished it sooner if I didnt have to keep putting it down to do vacation stuff. This book kept me guessing the ENTIRE time. I do love that we get the answer at the end, but I wish there was a sequel to this story. I feel the way she ended it left it open for a sequel. However, she never decided to write one. I will say this is a book I will recommend to anyone who like to read. Not often do I pick up a book that I have trouble taking a break from but this was one of them.

This is very much a YA book. Interesting enough story. Piper is a junior in HS. Excells at school, journalism, etc. But like most of HS she is backstabbed by here closest people. Savannah, a HS senior and pipers sister is determined to find out if her accident was a suicide attempt, murder, or truly an accident. Throughout the mystery 1 thing remains the same, so many secrets makes it hard to head in the right direction.

I want to say this book is good but I feel like it’s very predictable and boring, without counting that Savannah was just going around asking everyone if they killed her sister like it’s insane that she didn’t get killed herself because of how dumb she was, actually its just happening because it’s a book, at first I thought it was Grant but at the end it was just Noah, make it make sense? He didn’t even had a real reason, yeah someone tells you the relationship is not going anywhere? So what? This book is not so good like they depict it, with mid characters that didn’t have a real reason for all this stupidity, I guess the problem is just big when you start seeing it as that, Savannah just did all of that for her boyfriend and now she doesn’t even have the boyfriend? I am glad at least Grant seemed terrible and at the end you lose them how you found them but Savannah didn’t at least cheat on him, whatever I don’t think this book is amazing as everyone say.

If uncomplicated writing is not your jam, then this book isn't for you. That being said, it was a fun read. This is the story of Savannah, whose sister has had a tragic accident and is in a coma. The big question is, was it an accident? The whole community believes she jumped, but Savannah is certain that there was foul play. We are on a very Nancy Drew adventure to uncover the truth and clear Savannah's guilty conscience. The Good: This was a very fast-paced and fun read. The Bad: Some of the more rediculous decisions that are made make this book unrealistic in a way that can sometimes take you out of the story.

Item was just as described. Would buy again.

Multiple suspects and red herrings to keep the mystery alive. What didn’t work for me was ome characters felt a little underwritten or stereotypical. Savannah’s investigation style (aka confronting people head-on) felt forced. The ending wrapped things up too fast—it could’ve used more emotional payoff. Despite some flaws, this book was addictive. I kept turning pages, eager to uncover the truth. It’s a solid pick for readers who enjoy twisty thrillers with complicated family dynamics and high-stakes secrets. Recommended for fans of: One of Us Is Lying, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, and survival-style YA mysteries. Not the deepest mystery out there, but still a fun, wild ride. Would I read another Chelsea Ichaso book? Definitely.

Love this book, always kept me guessing. The ending absolutely made up for some slower chapters .

This was an enjoyable quick read! I wanted a little more higher stakes but since the nature of the story is that the crime already happened it was what I expected. I liked Savannah and her quest to find answers. She was too open and not great a secrecy but it was fun to see her confront people with her guesses. The survival club aspect a cool idea and I liked that they were all stuck on the mountain as Savannah searched for answers. The other characters were all interesting and I loved wading through their stories and leaning more about them! I had my suspicions but though some of my guesses were correct I didn’t expect the final reveal. I really loved how it ended and how all the relationships changed and evolved throughout the story. Overall a fun quick ya thriller!
