There are shadows but that has to be expected given the overhead position of the light. Only a ring light would completely eliminate shadows. The three lamps can be adjusted to give even coverage to the board. Nice feature. The whole thing can be flipped over but I found this feature to be unnecessary for my setup. It works really well! It's nice that the lights are bright LEDs and that they are adjustable. A HUGE Con though...I went through the install procedure (i even drilled holes for the screws) and when I tried to HAND tighten the screws, 2 of them broke off at the heads with a ratchet Phillips-Head screw driver. I didn't even torque down on them.
