What country are these made in?

Not sure where, but they are really lovely small espresso spoons! Nicely finished and great to use!

These spoons are attracted to magnets.. meaning that they contain iron and can rust. Is it expected or should I return them?

Iron is the main constituent of Stainless steel and therefore all grades of Stainless are ferrous (attracted to a magnet). The degree to which each grade is ferrous varies widely (generally indicated numerically, such as "304 stainless", etc.), but even those that are not perceivably attracted to a magnet are ferrous and contain iron. So, the simple presence of iron is in no way an indication the item will rust, although that is a common misconception. These are food grade stainless steel. I have owned mine long enough that any iron oxidation would have been plain to see and none has occurred. As such, it's safe to say none will. No need to return them. They are stainless, they will not rust and they lool and function great. You're good to go!

Are these substantial? I want heavy mini spoons for dessert, yogurt, baby food, etc. The rest of our flatware has very thick handles; want these match

These are substantial and a good quality. I think that they will work for how you want to use them. They have smooth edges and will work well for the baby.
