You cannot twist the bullet portion out by hand. If you could secure the casing with a firm hold you "might" (??) be able to twist the bullet out with a pare of pliers. The bullet appears to be glued in pretty tight. If you are looking for spent casings stop by a local pistol range. They will have buckets full of them. My guess is they would not mind if you picked up a few. Here is an offer if Plan A doesn't work for you. I shoot 9 mm, .40 & .45 pistols. If you need empty bass hulls let me know how many you need & what caliber and I would be happy to mail a small quantity to you. I would just put them in an envelop and mail. They don't weight but a few grams each. **Q: Will these work for a .38 super?** A: No. A 38 super is semi-auto ammo.
