Spy Gear Lie Detector Kit

We got this for our 8 yo for Christmas from "santa" and it was an instant hit.Everyone in the house was asked questions, some silly some serious.It's not scientific and it IS a toy but it's fun.We told our son we will have to borrow it when things break around the house to learn the truth - the kids did not like that- LOLThe case is compact and keeps everything together inside.To use it you have to answer the question then remove your finger (don't keep it on the device after having answered) Seems that once you remove your finger it gauges the "truth".

My older son likes to use it to question his younger brother - stuff like "Did you go in my room?" or "Did you eat my candy?". The one being questioned puts two fingers on the contacts and the the toy lights up (1 light = definately telling the truth; 2 lights = maybe telling the truth; 3 lights = maybe lying; 4 lights = definately telling the truth). We get lots of 2 and 3 light results, so it's less definative that my son hoped - kind of like the Magic 8 Ball that way. But he enjoys it. The manual also gives pointers on looking for other indications that the "suspect" might be lying.

My daughter, age 9, enjoys "spy gadgets," so this item was a hit for her. Her young brother (age 7) also enjoyed played with it. She enjoyed testing us, and continues to use it (or at least talk about using it) months after her purchase.I would recommend this item for a child who likes detective stories and the like.

Another christmas present for my son, and he loved it. We have tried it out and I'm not sure the lie detection is very accurate, but my son thinks its great. He loves forcing people to sit down so he can ask them a sereies of questions. If you have a kid who likes to play spy or cop they will love this toy.

We got this last year for Christmas for our 6 and 4 year old sons. It was okay, they seemed to like the concept of the product. It just didn't work at all. It was pretty cheap so I wasn't really expecting much and, luckily, neither were they. We tossed it after about a month of it not working.

Wasn't expecting it to be real. But it would be nice if it had some sort of sound indicating the possibilities, instead of just a light indicator.Most of the fun will come from the person who is asking the questions, if they can come up with strange and funny questions.

May or may not really work but my 10 year old son has fun with it, especially when playing with his younger sister and friends. The kids have to mark the paper with ac pencil to keep track of the lies, the lie detector does not do it automatically.

It is going back to the store, mainly because it is for someone younger than my grandson who is 13. I did a lot of ordering over Christmas and clearly this item has one of the highest delivery fees for such a lightweight item. I sent an email to the company, but have not heard back. Once I do I will update my review accordingly. Stay tuned!

Great little toy but came in Spanish packaging so nobody had any idea what it was. Replacement was sent, also in Spanish! So had to give up and print the instructions out in English from their website. OK if it's for your own kids but I wouldn't buy as a present again.

Unfortunately, the instructions for the Spy Gear Lie Detector are in several languages, none of which is English. This was a gift for my granddaughter for Christmas. She was extremely excited about this gift, but now is very disappointed because there are no English Instructions. I was impressed at how quickly it was delivered. It came from England (I believe) and was delivered in about a week, which is quicker than it takes for a letter to get from Ontario to Wetaskiwin, Alberta in Canada. I have given a rating of three stars for everything; however, if we could use the toy, I think it would have a higher rating.

I had previously bought this for a gift and it was a huge success. Unfortunately this one was all in Soanish so the recipients would have had no idea what it is so had to be returned. I can't now find an English replacement so am very disappointed.
