Best one I've ever owned
I recently invested in the Hoover Turquoise Smartwash Automatic Carpet Cleaner Machine with Storage Mat (FH52050), and it has been a game-changer for my home cleaning routine. First and foremost, the Smartwash technology is truly remarkable. It automatically dispenses the right amount of cleaning solution and water based on the type of stain and the area being cleaned. This takes the guesswork out of the process and ensures consistently clean carpets every time. The results were impressive, with my carpets looking noticeably fresher and brighter. The machine is incredibly easy to use. Just push it forward to clean and pull it back to dry - it's as simple as vacuuming. The clean water and dirty water tanks are separate and easy to empty and refill. The included storage mat is a thoughtful addition, helping to keep the machine neatly stored when not in use. The FH52050 is quite powerful and was able to tackle both old stains and high-traffic areas effectively. I also appreciated the HeatForce feature, which helped accelerate drying time, so I could walk on my carpets sooner. Maintenance is straightforward, with removable brushes and a rinse feature that makes cleaning the machine hassle-free. The overall build quality feels robust and durable. In conclusion, the Hoover Turquoise Smartwash Automatic Carpet Cleaner Machine (FH52050) has made carpet cleaning a breeze. Its smart technology, ease of use, and impressive cleaning results have made it an invaluable addition to my household. If you're looking to keep your carpets fresh and clean, I highly recommend giving it a try.

Must Have Hoover, Money Saving Machine!
I bought this in November 2022, and this carpet cleaning machine is a life changing product!!! It was easy to assemble, and the results are beyond what I expected! We used to get our carpets cleaned professionally twice a year because of our cats, my husband walking through the house with muddy, greasy work boots, and my daughter spilling drinks. I was always FREAKING OUT!! This machine has literally restored my quality of life. I’m not kidding. The pictures above occurred within hours of family visiting. I cannot even imagine what could have happened in that room, but no worries or me FREAKING OUT! Within minutes, our carpets look brand new. I have used this for our doormats, area rugs, and the attachments work great on furniture, car carpets, and tight areas. The Hoover Cleaning Solution smells great, similar to a resort. A 64 oz bottle will last a while. This machine is very simple to clean just dump the dirty water out and rinse. The brushes slide out easily for rinsing as well. I would recommend the silicone, storage mat if you have hard wood floors. The machine does not leak, but after use there is water that will still drip from the brushes. It’s like going to the car wash. You can’t expect the bristles to be dry. Water needs to express somewhere. Otherwise, place the machine outside until completely dried. A MUST HAVE MACHINE!!

Excellent machine-I've used it often for 8 months now
Too many reviews are before the buyer even uses the product or after just a couple of times. I've waited and have used it a couple times a month for eight months. OUTSTANDING - in a word. We have three geriatric dogs and...carpet - a challenging mix. I found the HD RDr marginally effective, expensive, a hassle to rent and it took days to dry. We were ready to spring for replacing the carpet with hardwood $$$$:( but as a last ditch effort tried this. Using it is easy, cleaning it is easy and fairly quick, and it is easy to clean, rinse and dry the carpet. It uses much !!! less water and shampoo than the competitor. It is barely damp when done and is dry by the next morning without the use of a multitude of fans. Now...my method which may be overkill. When shampooing I overlap by 50% each pass. I "dry" on the back pass but don't worry or spend extra time at this stage. Once done, take the shampoo container out and repeat to rinse, again overlapping 50%. With both the shampooing and rinsing I often do the "likely suspect areas" another time. Then, switch on the drying mode and keep close attention to the amount of water being sucked up (you can see it) - keep going until no water is seen - usually after just one pass. Oh....I start the whole thing by putting in my earbuds, turn up the tunes and....clean away. Very happy with this machine and not having to replace the carpet just yet.

VERY IMPRESSIVE! • Better than other Hoovers
Growing up, for 30 years my parents have been using the Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe (or like) with spin scrubbers that go around in circles at the front. That’s all I’ve ever known — until now. … My brother suggested that maybe the longer bristles on the double-row brushes would get deeper into the shaggier carpets and pick up more junk/stain. I think he was absolutely right. Note: I had already cleaned my rug TWICE with my parents’ Hoover (which is heavier and has the 4 spin scrubbers at the front) before trying my new blue/teal Hoover SmartWash — and so so so much more junk came out with this one! • I can assure you, I was not paid to write this. You can see in the photos one of MANY piles of gunk that came out of this old wool rug. I love this carpet cleaner so much! It is LIGHT WEIGHT, CLEANS OUT COMPLETELY by coming apart into pieces and everything is washable… tonight this thing worked wonders. …. I know my dad was skeptical that the soap couldn’t be dispensed when desired (it automatically shoots out), but I think it distributes a perfect amount. And if you want, you can go over the area a couple times… alternatively, you can add your desired ratio of soap/cleaner to the clean water tank and leave the soap dispenser off/empty. Also, it had a “dry only” feature, so you can go over the area as many times as desired to soak up the water and dry the area. I would recommend going over the carpet with water only after one or two rounds with soap, but I was lazy and didn’t do that. Most of all, I want others to know that this is really a great purchase. I love Hoovers and I especially love this one. The weight is awesome, the breakdown is fabulous, and it really does the job. I know it also came with plenty of attachments, which I have yet to use. But am confident they’ll do great. Hope this thing holds up! Will let you know if something changes! Happy Shopping! Hope this helps :) - Your Indecisive Friend that bought both Hoovers, finally chose this one… and is feeling SO grateful!

It really does the job but takes a lot of effort
I don't have any pets or children living at home, so I admit that I don't keep my carpeting as clean as I could. I'd always had it cleaned professionally in the past, which was so expensive, the preparation was a bit annoying, and it seemed to take many hours for it to dry. My son has his own rug shampooer, so I decided to try it myself. One cleaning would already recapture the cost of having it done professionally, and I saved more money by purchasing a refurbished machine. I live in a condo, so all on one level and not huge. There is a combined living room/dining room, a corridor, and two bedrooms with a walk-in closet in one of them that are all carpeted. It took me 90 min to do the entire condo one evening, and it was completely dry by the next morning. I'm older, so it did bother my back to the extent that I had to lie down after each room. I really wanted to clean my upholstery but just didn't have the "oomph" for that. Next time, I'll do the carpeting in the evening, NOT throw out the remaining solution, and do the upholstery the next morning. It cleans beautifully. For the entire condo, I only had to refill clean water twice and only had to dump dirty water (and it WAS gloriously dirty!) three times. It's quite a process: you go back and forth over each area to shampoo. Then you remove the cleaning solution and go back and forth over the same area to rinse. Then you go back and forth over the same area several times in the "dry" function, to suction up as much water as possible. It's best to plan out your route in advance so you can minimize walking over a cleaned area. The process is worth it, though, removing as much soap as you can and getting it as dry as you can with the suction. Everything came apart very easily to clean out afterwards. It all has to air dry before I can put it back together and put the machine away because you can't get into a lot of the pieces with a towel. I'm glad I have the mat, so I don't have to worry about anything getting onto my carpeting or tile floor as it dries. Although I try to remove spills and bad spots when I see them, the carpeting is extremely old and has long-time stains that the professionals were never able to remove. I didn't pretreat any of them and this device did not remove any of those stains, either. But overall, the carpeting had been visibly dirty and is definitely now brighter and cleaner looking. I hope to use this machine annually, since I don't have to worry about the high cost of professionals any more, and keep them much cleaner and more sanitary overall.

Very good rug cleaner Best I've had in years
Really cleaned the rugs well. Easy to use like the feature of being able to turn on dry only so you can really get a lot of moisture out of the rugs. Like the way the soap is dispensed in a small bottle that is attached to the back of the machine, if you want to rinse you just pull it off and then snap it back on when you want solution on the rug. This rug cleaner does not put an excessive amount of water or solution on your carpet. Not a real light weight but no heavy, very easy to use. Did a large living room, hallway, and a bedroom and did not go through the bottle of solution you attach to the cleaner. The most important thing to do is after you are done using it, is to thoroughly clean the machine. It comes apart very easy and is easy to put back together. You really need to remove the brushes and rinse them out and take a wet rag or paper towel and clean all of the little fibers or pet hair that get on the area around and under where the roller brushes go, rinse out the dirty water tank well and the plastic filter that's in it and let air dry.

CORRECTION TO MY PREVIOUS REVIEW OF THE SHAMPOOER BUT NOT THE BAD SERVICE!!
I loved the shampooer until it stopped sucking up the dirty water. We only used it 3 or 4 times. I have tried to correspond with Hoover but the phone number fails to reach anyone. It only gives the times that someone is available and since I call during that time frame I guess no one is available to talk to. I sent an email and they emailed back wanting information that I already gave them. My husband is willing to try and repair it but I can't make them understand he needs to talk to someone or receive a schematic of the machine. They mentioned they could sell me another one for a discount. How lame is that?? The servicer is horrible and nonexistent!! DO NOT BUY THIS! WASTE OF MONEY!! Just want to add, Amazon customer service is also almost non existent. I just happened to save the phone number when I finally reached someone in the past and got an agent whom i could not hardley understand and I had to repeat everything I said 2 or 3 times so she must not have been able to understand me either. She sent me 2 emails. Basically one with all countries listed except the USA and one basically saying sorry we cannot accept a return please contact hoover and this is the phone number. I had already told her that was a dead end. LOUSY SERVICE FROM BOTH AMAZON AND HOOVER!!!! THIS IS A CORRECTION TO THE ABOVE!! My husband found someone local to help us and to his extreme embarrassment he had put the piece that laches on incorrectly and it left a small opening so the machine would not suck the water back in. The machine worked beautifully and my carpet looks great. I am not correcting the bad service I received but the machine is worth purchasing!!!!!!!

1 star for customer service
My 1 star is for customer service. Item delivered timely, was easy to assemble. I thoroughly vacuumed my carpet as recommended. Very first swipe with the Hoover cleaner and I suddenly heard a terrible rattling. Shut it off, didn't see anything wrong, started again and rattled briefly again then stopped. I went on cleaning as everything seemed ok. The Hoover does a very nice job cleaning, pleased with that part of it. But when I finished with the carpet and took the cleaner apart to clean as per directions I figured out what the rattling had been. There's a piece that fits on top of the brushes, I believe it's referred to as the nozzle. When I took that off and went to remove the brushes to clean there were 3 marble-sized pieces of broken plastic. The very corner of the nozzle had broken off and got caught up in the brushes. It looked like this crossed a channel where the water sucks up and I was concerned it would affect the suction. The carpet wasn't terribly wet but didn't know if it should have been drier because it broke on the very first pass so nothing to compare it to. I contacted Amazon about it to get a replacement part. They said they didn't have one but if I went to the Hoover site and found out the cost of the replacement part they would credit my card. I found one but wasn't positive it was compatible as it was called Smartwash Gen. 1 although it did look the same. Amazon credited me the cost of that particular part as well as tax. I contacted Hoover via their chat and told them the entire story and double checked with them that the part would work on my Smartwash +. They said it would not and that they didn't have the replacement part that I needed, the entire unit would need to be replaced. They sent me an email with instructions on what they needed for proof of purchase. I did what was asked. They sent another email saying I needed to cut the cord off the cleaner as well as peel off the label that has model/serial numbers on it and put on another piece of paper. Then I was to take a picture of both and send to them. Upon receipt they would replace the unit if it was in stock, otherwise they'd replace it with a comparable one but the warranty would remain dated from the original purchase. I find this unacceptable; I don't need an entire new unit, just a replacement part. I'm supposed to take on the risk and trust them that they'll replace it with a comparable value unit in the event mine isn't in stock. Well once I cut that cord I'll be completely SOL and at their mercy. I realize they're concerned about somebody pulling a hoax on them to get a free unit. That is not at all what I'm doing, I just want a replacement part. So, to inform you: the unit does seem to do a good job although I've only used it once and it broke right away. Be aware if you have a problem, you'll likely not be able to get a replacement part. If a company is going to produce a product, they need to produce replacement parts as well, otherwise your unit is pretty much disposable. Again, this 1-star review is for Hoover's customer service. It is not for Amazon's customer service. Personally, I don't plan on ever buying a Hoover product again because of this experience.
