Is this a stiff belt to hold things ?

Stiff is relative. It keeps it shape when worn and doesn't "roll over" as cloth belts are apt to do. I would gauge it 8 on a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 very difficult to bend. Hope this helps. BTW I really like the belt.

What color is the buckle? a yellowish brass? or chrome? or matted material? i don't want a yellowish gold buckle..

I have three of the Timberland belts. The brown belt and the tan belt have brass buckles. Really nice! The green belt does have a silver buckle.
