programming was easy, just takes a half an hour to do it yourself and if you miss a step or do a step out of order you have to start all over again. If you are able to follow directions you will be fine. Way cheaper than having a locksmith do it. Seems to be nearly the same quality as the original.

My car has been saying ready for Keith too for many months and I would have to hold my engine start button for 12 seconds let it go and then press it again to turn my car on then I got tired of doing that because it takes time I ordered this key fob just to see if I can get my car out of program mode because it wouldn’t let me without a computer and I can’t afford that right now so I ordered this key to get it out of program mode and it connected instantly after sticking it in the transmitter pocket this key works great. I only use it as a spare.

I bought a used 20017 Malibu and it came with only 1 key fob. I called dealer and they wanted almost $300 for new key and to program . I took the chance and bought one of these . It comes with different websites to visit for programming but I found a video on YouTube that was helpful. It was fairly easy to program but after it was finished my factory remote or the new one wouldn’t work . I’m not sure what the problem was but I removed hot cable from battery and reconnected. Both remotes worked great after that . I have been using as a spare for 2 months now and no problems.

Happy customer here!! Looks just like the OEM key. I was able to get key blade cut & programmed successfully for my Malibu LT 2017. It is light weight yet durable. I accidentally dropped it on hard concrete and did not damage and still works like a charm. Saved $$$

For Malibu 2016 LS, please place your FOB in the tiny pocket inside the center console box's rear side unlike Cadilac while your current FOB is in the cup holder. The rest, please follow the instruction of the website link. After programming it, your car will activate theft deterrent thing, and the car will not start for 10 minutes. Return after 10 minutes to use your car. Hope to had better instruction as I almost tow my car to dealership as dealership recommended to tow to dealership when I ask them. FYI It seems that LS model does not have remote start function. So remote start key would not work while other keys working.

The website links provided were sketchy and would not work for us with out providing credit card information like the package says not to do. YouTube was helpful however you can not begin to program the fob without having the key cut by a locksmith. So much for a quick fix. The locksmith also told us we could not program it ourselves with out his computer since we didn’t have an original key. Not sure if he was just trying to upsell us or not. Then he say often these off brand key fobs don’t cut or program correctly so we may need to end up buying a different one anyway. Thank god we happened to find our key because this was turning into a bigger headache.

My dealer wanted over $350 for this replacement. I had lost one of my two fobs about a year ago and panicked when I couldn't find the other one. For my 2017 keyless entry CRUZE, I relied on my nephew (Late 30's) to complete the installation of the new FOB. It takes about 30 TIMED minutes. The instructions online are specific. It was easy for him to install, and all functions are fully working. The only think I did not do was have the emergency key cut for the new fob. That is not necessary for completion of installation of the new fob.
