Merfolk (World's Scariest Legends)

This book was AMAZING. I love Jeremy Bates and his books, and this book was no different. Twists and turns at every corner and it will leave you wanting to read all of his novels. If you like being spooked, I definitely recommend you read this book.

Good character development. Understated yet horrific horror development building up to suspense that caused me to take a break from reading at times. Good and interesting information on ocean science. Could not guess the outcome which is rare for me. I read a lot of books, crap as well as quality, I should say I consume a lot of books. This one was worth the read, I'll read more by this author to see if hes a one trick pony but he has a good writing style so I'm cautiously optimistic. Great book, writing, plot, character development, horror factor, I'm impressed

Merfolk in a whole new light — and a truly believable tale. Makes me want to never find one in person. The whole storyline was absolutely captivating and written in such a way that you feel you’re living the story. I love all oh Jeremy Bates books and this one did not disappoint.

It was alright. My biggest issue was the ideas were basically recapping the mockumentary of the "aquatic ape" theory the Discover Channel did some time ago. The characters were entertaining though. The mermaid portion? Underwhelming.

I really loved this book! It was pretty well written and I look forward to reading another book by this author, as this was my second and I have enjoyed both.

I accidentally liked this a heck of a lot more than I was expecting. The science felt accurate (no clue if some of it is or not) and I am a huge sucker for murdery mermaids. Somehow this was also humorous? I had a great time. Some solid gore but takes a while to get to it. Overall fast read. It was one of those books that's so campy it ends up being good

This story started out slow. However, once I got into the search for mermaids I felt like I was in the story with them. I couldn’t put the book down!

Very enjoyable read. I loved the characters, they fit together so well and naturally. I had no idea what “Merfolk” stood for until a few chapters in lol and I was pleasantly surprised to keep finding out more and more

Mermaids?? I thought this wouldn’t be a book I’d enjoy but thought I should give it a shot. And……I really enjoyed it. If you like Jeremy Bates then definitely read it!

Amazing story

Great story. There was a Hollywood movie (she creature,I think). It featured carnivorous mermaids. But this book is quite different.

The first mermaid story that I have ever read, and so far the best! I loved it. Jeremy Bates has to be one of my favourite authors and I have not been disappointed yet. Look forward to see what he comes up with next.

Mit diesem Buch hat sich Jeremy Bates ein echten Hammer geleistet. Von der ersten Seite an wird man in einen Strudel gesogen der einen glauben läßt , das könnte war sein. In dieser Geschichte steckt alles was man braucht um sehr gut Unterhalten zu werden. Spannung, eine alte Legende, mitreißende Aktion, glaubhafte Charaktere und viel Recherche. Für alle Fans von Michael Crichton: Es Gibt einen Autor der das schafft was Crichton aus dem Sattel gehoben hat. Sehr lesenswert.
