Are these socks food for Leisure wear? I need socks comfortable enough to just wear around the house for my husband who has wideish ankles

Yes they are good for everyday use around the house ect.

What was the size listed on the pack label? I received these with it listed as "L" - men's size 9.5-11.5 whereas I am a size 9 shoe.

American adult sock sizes are hosiery sizes - measured by the inch size of the foot. Stretchy though, to fit a range of sizes: i.e. men's 9-11. https://www.sockdreams.com/blog/2011/07/08/sock-math-converting-shoe-sizes/ American shoes aren't sized by the inch length of the foot to go in them. That's why the sizes aren't the same.

Are these socks good for long distance running ?

They hold up and are durable to answer your question. Even through multiple runs through the laundry. As for during runs, I find they breathe very well and fit very comfortably, almost like not wearing a sock.

Do these socks slip down into the shoe? I prefer tan socks for that reason but don’t see tabs on these.

I have had no issues with them slipping down into the shoe, I wear them daily and love them. I will be buying more.
