I'm fine with the product in general, except for one thing - the strength it takes to remove the prongs and add them back while you're getting it adjusted to the dog's neck. It is outrageously difficult to "pinch" those prongs. The video with the girl saying you pinch the prongs is a total joke. It takes more than a pinch! I finally used a gripping tool (pliers) to work with one of the prongs, and it took me 3 tries. I struggled with leather gloves on for protection with the other prongs. I think I have the collar sized right for my female lab - I had to remove 4 prongs. The manufacturer of this collar needs to include some kind of a tool to move the prong ends together while removing or adding them - or advise buyers how hard it is to do this. I was furious last night as I struggled to almost midnight with this collar, and would have sent it back had I not been able to get it right. I'm not weak, by the way. I've put together all kinds of products ordered on-line, including big tv cabinets, all alone, as I have no help. Anyway, I took my lab out into the yard a few times today, and I seem to have better control of her - she is a terrible puller - she's 1 year and 5 months old and high-strung. I still cannot even think of taking her out in public, so I have hopes this collar is part of the solution to making a civilized dog out of her. I spent $1600 on private behavior lessons for her last summer - all for nothing. True to the breed, she is very lovable , but I'm afraid she will injure me with the pulling and bolting when she sees things she's unfamiliar with, like birds or strangers. She needs to learn that I'm the Alpha Dog in my pack of 3 dogs - not her. Hope this collar helps.

Easy to put on and take off with metal latch, reliable, adjustable links to change length (not so easy, but you only do it once and it is very strong with good directions), soft prong covers and still very effective. I found it works better than the choker chains, especially for a dog that pulls. (Never tie with this collar.) Sometimes I hook the leash on one d-ring, then click/latch the collar on the dog so I have a hold on a hyper dog that won't be still, then I can easily snap the leash into the second d-ring after the collar is on. Make sure the latch is closed completely. Long hair can get in the way and prevent it from closing-on any latch.

I took in a German Shepherd that I don’t think had ever been on a leash before. He appears to be around two years old and, he was severely underweight but, after being fed on a regular basis for a while, he was getting bigger and stronger and, I needed something that could control him should he decide he wanted to eat one of the neighbors’ dogs or kids. I never liked the idea of these collars but, after doing some research, I now see the value. This isn’t an “all the time” collar. It’s only for training and, when we’re not training, it comes off. I like the fact that this collar came with plastic caps on the prongs. The buckle make it easy to put it on and take it off. He knows when I pick it up, we’re going on a long walk, not just to the back yard.

My trainer stated that this type of collar doesn't release the pressure as well as it should. So for that reason it is not a good training tool for dogs. I would recommend one that has the chain verse the material in this one. What I did like better is the locking feature. This is much easier than the collar we have now, so for that reason I ordered it. It worked well and made it easy to get on and off.

I much much prefer this simpler style of pinch collar when it comes to putting it on the dog. I have the older one too and its a pain to have to reconnect the prongs just to get it on him. I question how safe the clasp is on this one because it snaps so easily Im afraid it could come off but I do like that there are 2 rings to connect to the leash so it makes it more safe. So far so good
