the pump is working and pumping, however the fuel gauge is no longer working, really sucks because i may have forgotten to cut the wire tie on the float, but thats not like me, either way i wont know till i drop the tank again and look, the easy to install is a bit misleading, once the all the lines are disconnected and the tank is lowered changing the pump is a breeze, i had to drop the tank because i have too many tool boxes on the bed

Replacing a fuel pump as a shade tree mechanic is no easy job. Everything about it is difficult. Therefore, learn from those of us here who had a bad experience with cheap Chinese auto parts being sold here on Amazon. Sometimes you can get away with it. When it comes to the fuel pump - DON'T GO CHEAP. Pony up for a good reputable pump and pay the extra money. I bought this "AABAGAIL" pump from "Auto Parts Outlets". Seeing how it was 5x cheaper than pumps from standard auto parts stores, I thought it was a great deal. Nope. The pump looks great, fit, and finish looked exactly like the OEM pump I removed that had failed after 170k miles on my 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi. After wrestling the tank, removing the driveshaft, and dealing with corroded parts, I finally got the job done. I thought I could go for years without worrying about that again. Nope. It lasted only 800 miles before taking a dump. I'm trying to reach out to the seller to see if they will honor their 1-year warranty. Bottom line: you do not want to re-do this job. Once is enough. Go to NAPA or somewhere else reputable and pay the price. EDIT: after a little back and forth, the seller agreed to refund the purchase price under warranty. I appreciate that, and give the seller another star.
