In this follow-up to Fairytopia, Elina (played by Barbie) travels to Mermaidia to save her friend Nalu, the merman Prince. Prince Nalu has been kidnapped in an attempt to learn the whereabouts of a special berry that will make Laverna the most powerful fairy in Fairytopia – even more powerful than the Enchantress! It’s up to Elina to stop them, but she can’t do it alone. She’ll need the help of Nori, a headstrong mermaid who doesn’t trust outsiders and wants nothing to do with Elina. Winning Nori over isn’t easy, but Elina will have more challenges yet to come. Saving Nalu could require the greatest sacrifice of her life: her wings. Can she do it, or will Fairytopia fall into the hands of Laverna forever? Review: We love this - I know its going to sound strange but I bought this for my son. He had seen a trailer on his Postman Pat DVD for it and would watch it over and over again, so in the end I decided to get the DVD for him. He enjoyed watching this and there was a scary part in it that we talked about. He was genuinely concerned for Barbie and her friends when they were headed to this danger. There are some good messages in the film for children such as friendship, respect and patience. My son has watched this quite a few times now and so have I - yes, I enjoyed it too! Review: Perfect for my girl - My girl loves this film and even her 3year older brother sits and watches it with her. It is one of these films that is beautifully drawn and very innocennt. Would suit any age and even for me it was not bad to have to sit through. Delivery was prompt and item as described. Very happy, thank you!

We love this
I know its going to sound strange but I bought this for my son. He had seen a trailer on his Postman Pat DVD for it and would watch it over and over again, so in the end I decided to get the DVD for him. He enjoyed watching this and there was a scary part in it that we talked about. He was genuinely concerned for Barbie and her friends when they were headed to this danger. There are some good messages in the film for children such as friendship, respect and patience. My son has watched this quite a few times now and so have I - yes, I enjoyed it too!

A word of caution.
I expect this to be nice, but a word of caution. The reviews here mention that this is two Barbie features on one DVD. Dealers are likely to be confused by this as the full title of Mermaidia is: Barbie, Fairytopia, Mermaidia. Unless one really knows one's Barbie the front cover of Mermaidia can easily appear to be of both. So my double disk arrived and it turned out to be just Mermaidia. I need to shrug as the actual price I paid was around the same price as many individual Barbie DVDs. One of those things, I am still looking forward to when I get around to watching it. Update: I kept the first viewing of the Barbie as Christmas over-indulgence, followed by two Trinians Blu ray. They were all as good as I expected. The Barbie has a different approach to how its soundtrack music is used than the other Barbie I have. Also, the Fairytopia series might be more approachable to 'kids the second + time around' than many other Barbie, never a pun by Mattel? I was not disappointed with the this and do feel a need to look for the other two Fairytopia features.

Bad Quality
Fast Delivery which is great, but not good quality on the DVD. It keeps sticking / freezing then jumping and missing bits out. Not very happy with this one.

Great present
A fantastic present. My little girl loves all the barbie movie's. This one is the second movie involving the same Barbie character. First is Barbie: Fairytopia, and the movie after this one is Barbie fairytopia: magic of the rainbow, and finally Barbie mariposa. Although all Barbie movies can be viewed as stand-alone, its best to watch these 4 in the above order as each movie is a continuation of the story featuring the same Barbie fairy and mission. All 4 recommended

Barbie - Mermaidia
All I can say is this DVD gets played over and over again! My four year old just loves Barbie DVDs, but this is her favourite. She loves the part when 'Bibble' starts singing in different voices. We have to play this part repeatedly. I think Barbie DVDs all contain music, which is mostly classical and this seems to appeal to young children.

Haben die DVD für unsere Kleine gekauft. Sie freute sich riesig, bis wir die DVD anschauen wollten. Keine Deutsche Sprache. Echt ärgerlich. Rücknahme ja, doch sollte es auf eigene Kosten nach Amerika senden. Da fällt einem nichts ein. Deshalb nur ein Stern.

This Barbie movie is one of the classic movies that I grew up watching. It is now so much fun watching them as an adult with my own daughter. Cute mermaid Barbie movie. This is a part of the Barbie Fairytopia movies, but you don't have to watch them all to understand whats going on. The other movies will give a little more back story, but not a must to see. The beginning of the movie does a quick recap of previous movie. Just good to know though if you are wanting the set. The movie shipped quickly and came in good condition.
