you need to knownd understand the process of evocaation. Undersand that the spiritual enttity is being evoked formanifestaion
ExcExcellent / highly recommended academic work. Ceremonial mgic is a practical work - the writer gives an academic account and starts by rendering an historic background thereby setting the background and allowing the reader to understand the setting. The occult is a difficult subject but once you grapple with it, enrmous rewards can be gained. Happy study.

There's a Better Translation
I purchased this text years ago, stumbling through the awkward translation and difficult-to-read print until an excellent revitalized translation was released a year or two ago by Eric Purdue. It opens up and illuminates the content in a way that this fails to do. The newer translation is a bit pricy, but it is well worth it if you are interested in absorbing this material.

Highly Recommend
Interesting read. It provides a lot of background for many of the ideas and practices you see discussed in the modern occult field. Eloquently written and connects complicated and abstract ideas rather well. Highly recommend for anyone interested in the history of the occult.

The Occult reference is misleading there is more white magic information inside than dark
Difficult to read. Has alot of archaic language and is missing the feel of magic being brought through the book. It is an okay reference guide for someone interested in researching but a bit much for a DIY magic user.

I am happy with this purchase
Another important occult book to own. I find this book gets regurgitated in almost every other occult book I've ever read. At least some aspects of it. Most occult writers have owned or read this book. It definitely had a large influence on a lot of writers. I am happy with this purchase. (soft cover version)

Spend the money
If you're serious and care about the clarity of information I highly recommend spending the extra money and purchasing the 2021 translation by Eric Purdue.
