High end and super fun to pick
I bought this lock mainly to complete Paclock’s “200k challenge”, where you record yourself picking and gutting the lock and they reward you with a patch and certificate. It arrived today and I’ve since picked it open 3 times. It gives excellent feedback and is super fun to pick. Its actual difficulty level is debatable though. 7 pins and 200k key combinations is useful against certain attacks but a good picker will get it right open, and without getting into minutiae I’ll say there’s a very certain method to getting it open quick, and now I’m halfway tempted to buy another one and test that theory. I wonder how much of Paclock’s sales on this come from people like me anyway. My goal is to keep my picking and gutting video under 5 minutes and that won’t be too difficult. I prepared myself for this with a tricky American Lock 1100 and a German Abus 72/40 and I was well prepared. Now onto real life applications, this is a super heavy duty lock and the 7 pin keyway cannot be picked by anyone without some pretty significant skill and experience with security pins. The weak point on any padlock like this is the shackle and the best part about this is that the shackle is replaceable. Small consolation if it gets cut off and your stuff gets stolen, but at least you probably won’t lose the lock. Finally, these come with stainless steel pins and if you get one with a stainless shackle it just will not rust. And finally it’s a quality American made product and operating it is just satisfying, whether you’re turning it with a key or a tension bar. Guess it’s time to get recording! Got a patch and a blue belt waiting for me.

Nice lock
Well, I bought this for locksport practice and have yet to give it a try. I'm quite sure it would be sufficient to safeguard your goods.

WINNER! hooray to paclock. v tight tolerance seven pin core (6 security), keyed w steep bitting
It's an industry standard for a reason, tight tolerances, seven Pyne total six of which are security pins (alternating spool and serrated and standard in the seventh slot), no spring resistance on the core: picking one open, you have to know what you're doing and be hone in your skills. I'd put it ahead of dozens of locks costing two or three times as much by other companies. Place it comes in a whole bunch of really cool colors so that's super cute and fun. Whether it's customized for your personality or color-coded locking systems, you can go nuts get a whole rainbow of the paclock pro 90 a's.

Locksport Challenge.
As an avid practicing locksport enthusiast at the intermediate level I find the Paclock 90a Pro to be a formidable challenge. With it's 200k possible distinct key patterns and often challenging bitting these locks have provided me with a challenging puzzle to solve. Paclock 90a Pro locks are an industry standard known for their quality and reliably. Worth every penny.

If you want something fun and new, you're in luck!
Very well-made padlock. Im a lock picker and I bought it for that purpose. Excellent tolerances and feedback. Challenging security pins and a satisfying shackle pop! What else could you ask for??

Id have no problem using this as a gym padlock.
Well made, easy to disassemble. Not an easy lock to pick or rake quickly. Terrible feedback and crunchy pin movement. Core has a little bit of play within the padlock, which adds to the sloppy feel. I can open mine easily in under a minute, but that’s only because I’ve been practicing on this lock for a couple weeks and have memorized the binding order. I would use this as a gym locker lock and feel pretty confident about it. Ultimately if someone wants in, they’ll just cut it, but if someone relatively unskilled were raking and bypassing locks quietly, they’d probably end up skipping this one with how long it would take them to defeat it. I both love and hate this padlock, and will probably buy more Paclock products in the future. Good stuff.

Great lock for your gym locker
Lightweight aluminum body and hardened shackle. No sense lugging around two pounds to lock us ones belongings at the gym. Like most padlocks, I'm sure the shackle could be cut with bolt cutters or an angle grinder for certain. But that kind of activity is most likely going to get noticed at a gym with a reasonable amount of traffic. Where the PacLock 90A shines is it's seven pin core and resistance to shimming and bypass methods the majority of padlocks on the market are vulnerable too. Many padlocks contain a four pin core, larger masterlocks and padlocks will usually contain five and that's pretty standard across the market. The vast majority of those are pinned with standard key and driver pins. Many can be zipped open in seconds and the rest picked or raked open in a minute or less by any novice lockpicker (if not combed over or bypassed with no picking at all). The PacLock 90A has seven pin stacks and all but one contained at least one security pin per stack, some both. A mixture of serrated and spool/mushroom pins. All locks are pickable, but the 90A Pro is going to keep even an experienced picker busy for quite some time, most likely longer than your workout. In reality, a thief is likely either going to become quickly frustrated or see your PacLock and move along to easier targets. Which is exactly what you want from a lock on something like your gym locker. They offer better locks for outdoor use and securing things in places where a thief may have more time and privacy, places calling for something a little more heavy duty. But this is perfect for lockers at work or the gym and such. Ideal, in fact.

Look is very well built and finished, very secure 7 pin core. Family-owned business and made in USA. Highly recommended, don't waste your time with MasterLocks, buy this instead.
