Rightline Gear Truck Tents

Works great for me. No complaints. I put this on an Australian Ford Ute which its not designed for but the size was in the same range. Worked fine.

This a a fantastic truck tent. Sets up quickly, lots of room! If you have a tonneau cover, just put it away under cover when done!

I bought this for my 2016 Colorado, extended cab, 6' bed. If you look on the Rightline website, it has a page dedicated to the 2015 and newer Colorado/Canyon, basically saying that the Mid Size tent will work and fit on these trucks, except there will be small gaps at the front of the bed and around the tailgate. However that page does say "although this gap doesn’t create any problems, it does not represent the normal fit for our truck tents". Before ordering, I exchanged emails with their customer service, who also directed me to that same page and confirmed that the tent would still work. After I received the tent, I set it up once in the driveway and the fit seemed decent at first, but not great. The fit was a little tight, especially around the tail lights but functionally the tent worked and the gaps weren't even as bad as the photos on the webpage. However, on the first night of a 10 day camping trip, an 8" tear developed near the front left corner, and the tightness around the headlights made the door flap difficult to zip shut. By morning, the main zipper had come off the track with minimal usage and effort. Then, on the second night one of the pole pockets came completely unstitched. Although there was no additional damage for the rest of the trip, I was very upset that I had to use nearly a whole roll of duct tape to make functional a brand new tent that cost as much as it did. Overall my impression was that while the quality of the fabric seemed good, the stitching and hardware was far below the required quality for this type of product. Also, the structural design did not seem robust enough for a product intended to be used under stress and in outdoor conditions. There are two reasons why I give this product two stars instead of one. First, the product design does have potential and those with other trucks may have a better experience than me. Second, Amazon was very friendly and understanding when returning this product for a full refund, return freight prepaid. If any company representatives are reading, I'd also like to mention that I was very upset after depending on this product as my sole means of shelter for 10 days and over 2000 miles from home. It was very costly as I had to seek out alternate accommodations during the busiest week of the year in one of the most popular national parks in the country (not to mention time spend adjusting/repairing the tent and almost cancelling a trip planned over six months in advance). I would strongly suggest to remove the webpage referenced above, and advertise in no uncertain terms that this product DOES NOT fit the 2015+ Colorado/Canyon in order to save other hard-working outdoor enthusiasts and families the trouble.

I love this tent. It fits my 18 Tacoma double cab 6’ bed perfectly. It feels sturdy enough with no gaps. I give it 3 stars because I had a seam rip the second time I set it up. I have read the reviews and I knew that they reported a lot of seams ripping so I was careful not to over tighten the straps when setting it up. It still ripped so I think it was defective. Set up is easy if you follow the instructions and takes 10 to 15 minutes. If they replace it and the new one is ok I will update my review. UPDATE: I received a new tent in 3 days. I inspected the seams and it looked ok. I went camping and was very careful when setting it up. I recommend reading the attached instructions carefully. Make sure the seam lines up with the edge of your bed and don’t tighten ANYTHING until the very end. And even then, do not tighten anything very tight. I have the 3-fold tonneau cover and the tent fits over it when folded up. It’s a tight fit but not a problem. Bottom line-I am very happy with this tent. If they would reinforce the seams especially on the front corners (near the cab) it would be perfect. I am skeptical about the durability due to single-stitched seams and thin material, but for 4-5 times a summer it is perfect. I gave it 2 more stars. I love the design. It’s roomy. Good ventilation. The zippers are good enough but like most zippers you still need to be careful with them. I like that there is no floor so you don’t have to empty the bed to set it up. And it fits perfectly.
