A Unicorn Named Sparkle: A Picture Book

This is one of those great books that is clever enough to be a fun read for both the kids and the adult reader. It has just the right since of humor for our family. My 5 and 7 year old daughters loved it when we checked it out from the library. Perhaps because the younger one is a huge unicorn fan. But this is not your typical unicorn and princess tale. No princesses to be found and it is just, plain funny. My older daughter wanted to buy it to give as a gift to her little sister for her birthday. So now it is in our permanent collection, and I'll probably buy a few more as gifts for other kiddos in the same age range.

I purchased this book for a 5 year old who was able to read most of the book with some guidance. This book is adorable in story concept and illustrations!. Great for imagination, believing and moral. I also purchased the sequel by Amy Young, A New Friend for Sparkle. I loved the glittery lettering but it is only on the paper cover, not the Hard cover which wears easily. Great Book for Unicorn enthusiasts!.

My son and daughter both love the pictures and funny story, we even made sparkle cupcakes to enjoy while reading.

I ordered this book about Sparkle the Unicorn for a 3 year old who loves unicorns. I read the book when it arrived, and it is one of the cutest children's stories that I have read in quite some time (and I read a lot of children's books since I have a 4 year old daughter). I will be ordering additional copies of this book the next time we are invited to a little girl's birthday party.

Cute story with a valuable lesson about getting to know someone from the inside, not judging based on outside appearance.

I purchased this for our four year old for Christmas after spotting it in a store and flipping through it - she loves unicorns, all things glitter, and even looks a bit like Lucy so it seemed like the perfect book for her. The first night I read it to her and her five year old sister, and was a bit surprised they didn't seem too into it but then they asked for it again the next night. Now they are OBSESSED with this one - they want it for story time almost every night and run around quoting lines from it. We will definitely be getting the next book A New Friend for Sparkle soon, and already have Sparkles First Christmas in our cart as a pre-order.

Ho comprato questo libro in inglese per mia figlia di 7 anni che ama gli unicorni, per stimolarla a leggere in inglese. Il testo è semplice e le immagini accattivanti. Mia figlia l'ha letta da sola tutta in una volta (le immagini aiutano a capire la storia anche se non si sa bene l'inglese). Due pagine del libro sono stampate al contrario ma abbiamo deciso di tenerlo comunque.

Great book! Both my 2 yr old and 5 yr old love it. Sweet and fun images, and the story is nice.
