I simply couldn't believe that a heater could use so little energy so went and checked. It says right there in the product title at the top that it's 500W. So forget 50hrs for 1 unit of electricity, it'll use a unit every 2hrs in continuous use - but less once the room is up to temperature and it starts thermostatically switching on and off to maintain temperature. **Q: Can i mount this horizontally? Does it work on its side?** A: This is a vertical fan designed for the base to sit on a horizontal surface. Having said that it will work horizontally (I’ve just proved that) but it would need supporting from both ends as a minimum, which could obstruct the control knob which is on the top, and I would recommend that the swing function isn’t used.
