I like a house that is very dark at night, but I don't like stubbing my toe when I need to get up in the dark. These night lights are the best that I have ever used: * The have motion sensors so they light up automatically as you approach them (but only when it is dark--they stay off during the day) * They are fairly bright so you find your way around easily using the light they provide * The amber color is easy on the eyes. It appears very bright but doesn't wreck your night vision. It is much easier to see with these than with red lights (the worst color is blue, which wakes you up too much and is all too common on night lights) * They are compact and leave plenty of space to use the other plug I keep coming back and ordering more and by now I have them in almost every hallway and bathroom in the house. I’ve been using these for 3 years and they still work great. If your eyes are dark adapted, one is plenty bright to light up a bathroom without blinding you. (Initially I had both in one bathroom because they didn’t seem that bright when my eyes weren’t dark adapted - but turned out to be too bright in the middle of the night.) So for the last 3 years one’s been in a bathroom, and the other in a floor level outlet near another bathroom to light up the way.

Get these! These are wonderful motion activated night lights. They help save money and they have a nice amber glow so you don’t get woken up by them. If you have to make a midnight trip to the bathroom. And they are still bright enough so you could see what you were doing, but they won’t jar you awake with a bright white glow. It works well and it’s easy to use right out of the box. It fits well and the electrical outlet and it’s not too bulky.

I saw this in somebody's bathroom and knew I had to get one. They come in a two pack and the little sensor registers your movement in the dark and comes on. The red light is enough to light up the bathroom and not mess with your sleep cycle, so you can go back to bed and start sawing logs a lot faster than if you'd blasted yourself with white light. It turns itself off in a few seconds and Bob's your uncle. Highly recommend.

A couple of months of use and already one of them has the sensor completely gone crazy. It will just stay on most of the time.

NOTE: I do NOT recommend the red light. We ordered that first and had the same issues as other buyers where the light blinks off and back on continuously. I checked the negative reviews and realized almost every bad review is for the red lights. I returned the red and ordered the Amber lights. This review is for the Amber lights. We have them in both bathrooms and they work beautifully. They are dim enough that you do not get that shock of light when you use the bathroom during the night. If I turn on the overhead light after triggering this Amber light, it will go back out after about 25 seconds without movement. This piece of the review is for the white light. We were so happy with the Amber lights that I went back and ordered a set of the white lights. One is in our kitchen and it kicks on when you step into the area. It is bright enough to get the coffee going and snag my morning breakfast bar without turning on the main lights. We did try it in the dim hallway and it gave wonderful light without having to hunt for a light switch but our layout caused it to be triggered when someone passed from the bedroom to the bathroom thus hitting them with extremely bright light so we had to remove that one. That is not a problem with the light it has to do with our layout. This would be great for hallways, closets, kitchens and anywhere you need light for just a few moments. You step in, it turns on, you grab and go, it turns off. Also good for those areas you pass through with your hands full or where the light switch is just not in a convenient place. Highly recommend the Amber and White lights. Avoid the Red unless they've done a redesign.

Nice product when it works. The four units I bought have all quit working within 6 months of purchase. Find something else with higher quality electronics inside them.
