The valve crews in and out for cleaning and closes up when not in use. So that should work. I also only have a small 20 gallon hot water heater and use a low pressure shower head with low water adjustment turned down to save water since I enjoy my hot showers.. this product drains good even with low water pressure going in the drain.. the only time it drains slower for me is because hair has accumulated in the hair catcher.. once cleaned it drains great and back to normal.. the cleaning is very easy, just pop off the drain cap in shower and clean filter and unscrews the valve and check to make sure no hair is there to be cleaned out,, very easy and quick just a few minutes of my time.. i do recommend this item if your willing to do quick maintenance on it.. 5 stars for me,, it was needed,, no more smell,, ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gets the Job Done! *by L***L on October 17, 2024* I purchased it based on the specs indicated and it was a good buy.
