Does this have anything that would help prevent that?** A: This product has a saw tooth shaped baffle in the box at the bottom end of the chute that would prevent that type of attempt at removing any contents. I would strongly recommend this as a secure drop box. **Q: Does the chute have a hinged door?** A: Yes it does - the hinge is across the top. **Q: Can you use another mail slot face or do you have to use what is provided?** A: The mail slot is welded to the mail chute. It would be possible to change it but difficult. **Q: Is this box water proof ? I am looking for a box as a pass thru mailbox to by exterior gate.** A: Mine is in my stoop at my office so can’t verify. My guess is it is not waterproof.
