## Overview

Someone Has Died is a hilarious improvisational storytelling party game where players create outrageous characters and compete for a deceased person's fortune. With 77 Backstory cards, 31 Identity cards, and 27 Relationship cards, players engage in a wild ride of persuasion and laughter. The game is easy to learn, making it accessible for all experience levels, and guarantees endless fun with its unique card combinations.

## Description

Can you make the case for why you should inherit “someone’s” fortune—despite your bizarre backstory, dubious relationship to the deceased, and increasingly silly accusations from the other players? Someone Has Died is a zany, improvisational storytelling game that places 3 to 6 players in the middle of a will arbitration. Using unique Identity, Relationship, and Backstory cards, each player must create a case for why they should inherit the contents of the will. For example, you might be a talking dog who was the deceased’s roller disco partner—but can you explain the fact that you’re also a visitor from the future, and why this means you deserve the deceased’s collection of bottle caps? The result is a wild ride of persuasion, accusation, and laugh-out-loud fun.

Review: Nearly died laughing! - OMG, this sidesplitting game is perfect for the family or friends who love to make stuff up as you go along. Yes, it's an improvisational role play game, which may sound offputting to some. In our case, our blend of ages from 17 to 75 brought out sides of each other we'd never seen before. No two game sessions will be alike, and the fact of dark humor at its core (hence the Someone Has Died title) added even more absurdity as we developed our characters and competed to inherit the "estate." Highly recommend for families and groups that value spontaneity and creativity--not to mention hilarity.
Review: Bolstered improv for our group! - My wife and I have been playing dungeons and dragons games for years now. Recently she made some closer friends at work and several of them expressed interest in playing. One of the biggest barriers we've met with newer players has been getting over the embarrassment of role-playing at the table. Even after three months of weekly sessions, the interactions are mostly just my wife and myself and occasionally one of the other players who is brand spanking new but took to it like a duck to water. ENTER THIS GAME! We had invited the group our usual Saturday with dnd off the table due to the understanding not everyone would be attending due to holiday(? I don't remember) crap going on. We cycle through a few rounds of a couple other easy games to get things going and then I rip the plastic off this gem and we dive on in. This is one of the funniest games I have played where the ridiculousness just sort of tumbles out over the rounds that, for us, ended up with all of us winning a portion of dude's fortune except me because I was the Grim Reaper and had accidentally killed him. Since playing, the folks involved have really opened up at the table, getting more involved with their characters and the narrative of the game. We also continue to talk about the various shenanigans that happened over the three rounds we first played that we still find hilarious. Absolutely love it. Out of the mass of our board game collection, the difficulty is pretty low, with the steepest part of the learning curve just being able to maintain one narrative line to build on. The identity cards immediately set the tone for silly, but the game really starts to shine when the relationships between every player begins to show up. Concise instructions make this a great pick up and play that has made this a frequent flyer in our board game nights.

## Features

- SOMEONE HAS DIED… and you want their stuff! But can you convince the estate keeper to give you the fortune, despite your bizarre backstory and dubious relationship to the deceased—all while facing prying questions and silly accusations from the other players? This hilarious improvisational storytelling party game is a wild ride of persuasion, accusation, and laugh-out-loud fun.
- RIDICULOUS ROLES TO PLAY: Using a hand of unique Identity, Relationship, and Backstory cards, craft your most convincing character and take turns arguing your case—while other players poke holes in your story! Why are you worthy of the fortune, when you’re a caveman thawed from ice who only recognizes the deceased from TV? And what if it’s revealed that you’re a compulsive air drummer… who’s also blackmailing the estate keeper?! With new cards adding twists throughout, no two games are ever the same!
- ACCESSIBLE & EASY TO LEARN: Hilarious card combinations invite even reluctant improvisers and shy storytellers to the table, and the rules are simple enough to explain in ten minutes or less.
