The strings are metal cable, which holds up very well. The pvc pipes are built so that the canvas material stretches to a good tightness. Biggest surprise of all would have to be the suction cups. They are heavy grade plastic cups which attach easily, and really stay in place. Clean your glass prior to applying and they won't move under the weight of the average housecat. Mine is using it to lay out all day, going nuts whenever the leaves from the trees fall towards the window. Well done. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Caution when it breaks it happens fast *by J***Y on November 28, 2016* So when I received the perch cat bed I was excited because my cat loves to sit in the window but because it's cold out now he can't. As soon as I set it up he jumped up there and loved it. Now my cat isn't a giant monster kitty he's about 14 lbs though, long hair domestic. Well after about a week the perch broke.
