HIGH5 Energy Gel Aqua is a delicious and refreshing gel that has a consistency more like a sports drink so, unlike many other gels, you don’t need to drink extra water with it. This makes it a good option for beginners who are trying out gels for the first time. Easy to open and swallow, each sachet delivers 23g of carbohydrate energy. HIGH5 Energy Gel Aqua is designed to be taken BEFORE and DURING exercise. Please consider the environment and keep the countryside clean by taking your empty gel wrappers with you after use. Review: Love the runny taste of this. I have had 4 in space of a 2hr bike ride and its kept me going. In terms of the packaging the tear-off strip is just a bit too thick to be able to tear without stopping. You certainly cant do it when running without stopping. It just doesnt tear enough to give confidence youve opened it IMO. I guess its made thicker versus older pack variants (ive used these gels loads in years gone by) to stop the plastic top tab from being just dropped on the floor when out and about (that bit works)... but it could just be thinner on one side to make it easier to consume. Loses 1 star for that. Review: They taste great , very watery though. Thought they would of been more gel like

Why did you choose this product over others?: My favourite gels, easy to use while running as they are not too thick and are watery enough to be more of a drink than a thick gloop. Have tried many gels and these are the perfect consistency for me!

THE GOOD I use the HIGH5 ZERO tablets, and I knew the flavour was ok on my stomach. These liquid-based gels are a lot sweeter, which may not suit some people, but still sit ok with my digestion. Importantly, they do the job: I seem to get that extra bit of energy during longer runs. THE BAD My most recent delivery was a big let down. I put the delivery to one side until my current pack ran out. When I opened the HIGH5 box, within the delivery box, I discovered the whole pack was a mass of sticky, solidified, berry smelling gunk. After cleaning around I found 4 gels had leaked at the edge of the tear-off strip. The box had not been placed under any other items, so the damage happened either in transit or at manufacture - it is probably the latter because the HIGH5 box was not crushed or misshapen. Were these packs discounted heavily due to a known manufacturing flaw? I hope HIGH5 would not do that. THE UGLY Returning these was impractical due to the mess created - I simply had to dispose of wet sticky sachets and boxes as soon as I could because the gunk was going everywhere. I see other reviewers state that you have to pay for the return postage. A very disappointing waste of money...and now !'m unsure how many of the salvaged gels might leak if they are under a bit of pressure in my running belt. That'll be fun to deal with part-way through a marathon! Sadly, I may have to try another brand.

Perfect exactly as described. Not gloopy gel, definitely tastes better
