This very useful set has the following capacities: Large is 11 cups, medium is 6 cup and the small one is 3 cup.

are these safe in a gas oven?

The other answers are ignoring the obvious: borosilicate glass is borosilicate glass. It's what made Pyrex famous. The glass part can withstand up to 752°F with a sudden temperature difference no greater than 248°F, per Pyrex's specifications for their standard borosilicate glass. The big difference between Pyrex baking dishes and these are the lack of handles on these, which could be perceived as a safety hazard by the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Committee) if they were advertised as safe for baking. Due to liability reasons, these should not be used other than for the purposes stated by the manufacturer.

Please explain, it says 'made in the usa' however it says the origin is china?

The lids and the bowls have "Made in USA" molded into them.
