Five more episodes of Chowder await fans of the surreal and sublimely silly animated television series on this delicious second volume DVD. As with its predecessor, the episodes are not in broadcast order, which has no effect on their enjoyment; each of the 22-minute stories (broken into two 11-minute episodes) stands on its own in terms of zaniness and visual charm. Strongest among the batch included here is the Emmy- and Annie-nominated โBurple Nurples,โ which circles around a somewhat morbid conceit: in an attempt to make the title dish, aspiring chef Chowder accidentally laces it with rat poison, sending his boss and mentor Mung Daal on a mad quest to track down all of his creations. Other episodes underscore the showโs gentle blend of kid-friendly storylines and out-and-out wackiness: โMung on the Rocksโ gives Chowder a chance to prove himself by bailing Mung out of a pickle with his wife, Truffles, while its companion piece, โSniffleball,โ finds our hero facing the classic conundrum: will he be the hero in a game of sniffleball or the goat? Itโs this inherent sweetness, mixed with the lovely, off-kilter artwork and characterizations that make Chowder so appealing to viewers of all ages. Extras detailing the conception of this unique show would have been appreciated, but only a gallery of sketches and designs are present on this disc. --Paul Gaita Cartoon Network: Chowder: Volume 2 Marzipan City is a place where anything can happen and the unorthodox is commonplace. In the middle of this bizarre city is a quaint little shop known as Mung Daal Catering, which is owned by Mung Daal, one of the ost accomplished chefs and well known in the entire world. However, things have become a bit hectic in the kitchen as of late, as Mung Daal has recently acquired a young apprentice named Chowder, whom he wishes to pass along all of his knowledge towards. Chowder is an energetic young lad who wishes to become the greatest chef in the world, but his love of food and his extremely short attention span often results in him causing unintended havoc. However, theyre not alone. Truffles works at Mung Daal Catering and she takes the orders that her husband, Mung Daal, must prepare. Shnitzel, a rock monster, also helps out in the kitchen as he has worked for Mung Daal for years. Along the way, theyll meet the many colorful and zany residents of Marzipan City, though there will always be new dishes to prepare and exciting recipes to follow. Review: More episodes on DVD. - This is a second volume of the hit Cartoon Network show "Chowder". These are the next five episodes from the show's first season. Highlights including the Wrong Address/Wrong Customer combo (the two seemingly different shorts that are connected together into one story, one from Chowder and Mung's side and other from Shnitzel and Truffles') Gazpacho Stands Up is another funny episode, where Chowder helps Gazpacho by writing down all the jokes for his stand-up comedy appearance. Unfortunately Chowder's handwriting is too terrible for one to read. Then there's "Shnitzel Makes a Deposit" (one of the first eps to air) where Shnitzel is forced to take Chowder to the bank. All the episodes are funny. Hope more DVDs will come; the series gets funnier as each episode pass. Recommended to cartoon fans. Cool, creative show
My family absolutely LOVED Chowder and I love that it didn't have much potty/sarcastic/disrespectful humor that I feel is inappropriate for my little dudes. We really like Adventure Time and Regular Show but sometimes it can be a little much for younger kids. Chowder was the perfect in-between show for the out of Nick Jr. but not into tween shows category that my kids fall into. I wish CN would release the rest of the series.

Chowder DVD
My grandchildren like to watch Chowder on TV. As we sometimes spend Saturdays running errands, the kids like to watch this DVD. It helps pass the time & the trips don't seem too long to them. The seller shipped this video quickly & it was perfect. I would purchase items from this seller again.

One of best cartoons of all time!!!
This has been my favorite movie along with The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, and Adventure Time. I find myself watching it over and over before bedtime as its innocence and sweet light-heartedness are perfect for the tough times we live in now-days. I would recommend for any ages. I am 33 and my daughter is 10 and we both love these movies!

Great Volume
I received this volume within three days of purchasing it. I personally think this volume of Chowder is better than the first. I found the compilations quite awkward for both of the volumes since they do not go in order of release date. Anyways, one of my favorite episodes (Burple Nurples & Shnitzel Makes a Deposit) came with this volume. If you are new to watching the Chowder series, I would recommend buying this volume rather than the first one. There are other great episodes besides the one I favored within this volume.

Fun, but short
It's such an awesome show that is very enjoyable to watch, but it would be nice to have more than just 10 episodes on each dvd. It'd be much better to have the entire seasons available but for the price, it's just fine.

Very funny
An excellent cartoon, one of the funniest and more bizarre kids programme to come out in recent years. This never fails to make children and adults alike laugh out loud with it's off the wall humour - Ranging from slapstick and mild toilet humour to subtler jokes aimed at the parents/adult audience, and relationship comedy between Mung Dahl & his wife, and his arch enemy, Andive - the female owner and chef of a rival catering company. Not to mention Chowder himself - Mung Dahl the master chef's young apprentice who is eager to learn but whose extreme enthusiasm and insatiable appetite cause mayhem. I would recommend to this to all people who still like a good cartoon. Not only are the kids jokes funny but the stories are entertaining and interspersed with some quite inspired humour at times. The writers and animators often break the fourth wall and use other methods to set themselves apart from other cartoons. Recommended if you like Billy & Mandy, Ren & Stimpy, Phineus & Ferb etc. Even has elements of Family Guy in there with the post-modern aspect and a few things chucked in just to confuse. One small gripe is that the episodes are very short, at probably 20 minutes for 2 episodes they could do with being a bit longer. I get the impression if there wasn't such a tight schedule the episodes would be much funnier with more jokes and drawn out humour than they can cram into 10 minutes. Also this is region 1, so you'll need a multi-region DVD player or laptop to play them.
