Happy with my purchase: My new all purpose shoe.
These are the second pair of trail gloves. My first pair lasted until the soles wore down. 1st I’ll say whatever your shoe size is order a 1/2 size up. I’m not 11.5 , I got a 12 and have plenty of room at the top. I’ll advise if you have very wide feet this may be the best option for you. They are narrow. My feet are slightly wide and the fit was a bit tight when I first put them on (I also had sock on, some people may do barefoot) that got better after I adjusted the laces. I wore the on the treadmill and ran 2 miles with no pain, it also helped break them in from that initial tightness l. I’ll say they are good for trail walking. I’ll be using the for work, I do a lot of walking, working out and every day shoe. I would recommend them but they may not be for everyone.

Awesome all around shoe for anything life throws at you
My favorite pair of shoes. I have one pair for everyday use and another black/black pair for use at work (cafe job). They provide really good support and my feet don’t feel fatigued after a long shift of standing/walking. I wear them everyday and it’s great for anything I might face during a day outside of the house - nature trail/walk with friend, driving, grocery run, errands, walking the dog, rain, dirt, gravel, mud. Plus they look great. They are the best looking Merrel shoe by far and the only one I really love. Very durable.

Not the same as the Trail Glove 4, but a decent alternative
I purchased these to replace my worn out Trail Glove 4 shoes. The other reviews are accurate in that these are much more narrow than their predecessors, so much so that I almost returned them after trying them on. After a few uses though they loosened up and are more comfortable now. It's probably a combination of stretching them out and just getting used to the tighter fit, but I've grown to like them. While I still consider the Trail Glove 4 to be pretty much the perfect shoe, these are a decent alternative. These seem to be quite durable and look great. I tend to wear shoes until they have holes or fall apart, and I'd expect these will hold up for a few years.

Keep Feet Cool. Nice Indoor Shoes. Fit Wide Feet
I have wide feet and have a hard time finding shoes that don't feel cramped in the toe area, even with wide widths. It's not because my feet are super wide, I just think quality control is poor and also we all have unique feet. My feet also get hot in a lot of shoes, which I find uncomfortable. I wear these inside with socks. I've never used barefoot shoes before, so I was skeptical. While the toebox material does touch the top of my toes, it doesn't bother me because it's flexible and breathable. Arch support is good--feels like normal shoes. They're a bit tight getting on, because the opening is restricted. I bet if I didn't wear socks, they would be perfect. I normally wear 12 Wide, and these fit with socks on. 12 1/2 might be better. If you don't want to wear socks, you should find your normal size to fit well.

Not as good as the 5
Ive been wearing barfoot sneakers for 14 years because i like the way they feel. I ordered these becaause my old Merrells finally fell apart. Theyre not a good as the TG5 and here are a few reasons why. The meterial is 'crunchy' and feels cheap. The sole is a bit stiffer in the midfoot than the TG5 model, that could be the design but its definitely a noticable trait. The tongue is a single flap, so its attached to one side and it just anchored to the other. Not a big deal, just a bit annoying. The upper has decent heft to it, these arent flimsy like the vapor glove model so they will provide some support. These run small: i usually wear a size 11, the 11s i ordered were way to small and not wide enough. Returned them and bought the 11.5, its a much better fit so order a haldf size up. Overall, not a bad sneaker, but definitely not as good as the 4s or 5s. I would recommend waiting until they bottom out at 50 bucks or so; i spent 70 and i feel its a bit 9verpriced for what i consider to be a lower quality Merrell product.

Awesome Shoes
I love Merrell shoes!!! I appreciate the barefoot technology. This shoe is a great quality shoe & very durable, flexible. The top of the shoe is a gray mesh fabric so it keeps my foot cool & the sole is vibram which makes it slip resistant also that makes it last forever. The arch support is reasonable & sufficient. I have high instep & arch & my foot is comfortable in this shoe for very long periods of time. I can walk all day in these shoes without my feet, knees or hips hurting & for that I am grateful. I would recommend these shoes to friends & family.

I wish the newer model was as good as these
I will hate to replace these i like them and a friend of mine tried the 2 newer versions of the same shoe and neither of us like them. This older model though is great if you can find a pair.

Fine for daily use
Sadly, I had purchased them for running and they fell apart quickly. More specifically, I wore through the sole in fewer than 200 miles. I’ve been running in versions of the Trail Glove for years and these were the worst by far. That said, they look good and are very comfortable. I would absolutely buy for an everyday sneaker.

Overall Positive feelings only.
I own 2 other pairs of barefoot shoes. one from Vivobarefoot and a cheap one from amazon. Owned a pair of Merrell trail gloves 5 previously. some thoughts based on my experience so far. +Good quality, as one will expect from Merrell. +The lacing setup looks & feels great. -Effort is needed to get it on & off, compared to older trail Gloves I owned. But it's the same effort as one would require for my other shoes. Nothing super bad. The outer sole is a bit thicker I feel, but personally, I am looking forward to it, since the Merrell gloves 5 I owned had to retire in a matter of few months last summer. I would appreciate a bit of longevity for this money. You will feel the arch support initially but will get used to it. On the first day, I thought I might have to return it, but now it seems I got used to it. Not sure why a lot of negative reviews are out there just because of this. Update: after many travels and almost 7 months of usage. From longevity, as well it's a really really good pair of shoes. light to pack for travels, quick to dry, and comfortable.
