Serial killers, who do horrible, disgusting, disturbing things to people, and who have horrifying opinions and thoughts about women. That said, this book was super engaging and a really great read. At times I was incredibly frustrated with the characters, and pretty much yelling at them on the screen. Scenes of super tight with suspense, during which I was doubting the motives of characters, which made it super intense. So good. I haven’t read a lot of this series, but if this is a good representation, then the television show is not doing the stories much justice. It’s like frosting. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Much more focused than "The Surgeon." *by G***S on Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2023* I'll repeat my disclaimer from the previous review, this book series has NOTHING in common with the TV series other than the names of characters. With that out of the way, this is a MUCH more focused narrative. In the previous novel, "The Surgeon," it seemed the author didn't quite know where she was going with her characters. This time she clearly made Rizzoli the lead character, and the story was much more focused and on point. There weren't the endless pages of superfluous information as in the previous novel. I enjoyed the story a lot and only had a couple of issues which led to the 4 star rating instead of five. First the story came to a rather abrupt end. I was thinking it was going to end on a cliffhanger and then, boom, it was done. That part didn't flow as well. Secondly, once again Rizzoli has this "It's her against all the men of the world" attitude and it's starting to wear thin. I hope the author moves away from beating us over the head with this as the series continues. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Very scary people *by F***. on Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2024* I enjoyed this book very much.
