The strap is sturdy and wide to secure my thicker/larger yoga mat.The end loops are adjustable to accommodate different sized mats. Because of its sturdiness, which is a plus, I can't rush the process--but I'm okay with that since it's silent (vs quick velcro). For a yoga/stretch class or practice, silent is appreciated.Because my thick mat is for stretch at the end of a cardio class, silence isn't really a necessity.
