The product featured in the photo is a brown, rusty color. It is not black. You will have to check further to see if the product is available as a primer in other colors. Since I was going to apply a finish coat of high gloss black over my fence railings as a final coat, it makes it easier to see any areas missed due to the primer being a different color.
