What is the response to the numerous customer reviews that say that the thing keeps falling off unless the guitar is resting against it?

So, the guitar rest doesn't work as advertised when there are NO guitars at rest? Who'da thunk it?

Hello. I use a standing desk. Can I use this product to hang the guitar, as opposed to the bottom of the guitar touching the floor?

The product has to latch on to something. In my case it is the edge of a table which protrudes beyond feet of table. The bottom of the guitar doesn't have to be on the floor but I consider this a somewhat dangerous practice. It might be easy for the guitar to slip and fall. You can buy it and try it, wriggle the head of the guitar inside the 'latching fingers' and see if it is secure.

Just turn your guitar around and rest its strings (the fretboard side) against a table, so the back is facing you, but it works well without this thing. No?

I would not face the fretboard inward. This keeps the guitar upright, but you have to be careful not to leave it where someone might trip over the guitar. A handy little device. Beats carrying around a stand.

Can the "Dock" version be left permanently off a shelf? Trying not to drill holes in a wall right which is why I'm looking at this.

If I understand the question correctly, yes! I have it attached to my desk and my travel guitar is safely held in place. The guitar rests on the floor.

Brilliant holders

These holders are brilliant! You can mount them on almost any surface in any position. I originally bought them for a different shelf, but I was surprised to find they fit perfectly almost anywhere. Super versatile and very sturdy.

Very happy with this portable little dock

This is a neat little item that's light and portable, and that screws on vertically or horizontally. It's quick and easy to attach, and holds my guitar securely in place. Although bought for when I was travelling, I find myself constantly using it at home. So nice to keep my guitar within easy reach - I can just grab it when I want to play something, rather than having to trek to the guitar stand in another room. I hesitated to buy this dock because of the price, but I'm glad I did as I use it much more than expected 😊

Comodo...ma servono bordi sufficenti

Molto comodo ( ne ho 3) per tenere a portata di mano uno o più strumenti. Però serve avere bordi liberi su tavoli o scrivanie
