Measuring 12x16 inches, this archival-quality block is glued on all sides to prevent warping, making it ideal for professional artists using watercolor, ink, gouache, or acrylics. Trusted since 1492, Arches offers unmatched durability, natural white luster, and a pH-neutral surface free of optical brighteners, ensuring your artwork remains vibrant and intact for generations. ## Description Making prestigious art papers since 1492, Arches has been the paper of choice for artists from Van Gogh and Matisse to Picasso, Dali, Warhol and beyond. Hailed as brilliant, this archival paper is mold-made with 100% cotton fibers, has a natural white luster and stands the test of time so your work shines long after you've laid down your masterpiece. A process exclusive to Arches, gelatin sizing "to the core" gives each sheet on every Arches cold press block astounding absorbency, as the pH-neutral, gelatin-sized internal and external fibers hold pigment in place without over-saturation. Each block of this 140lb cold press watercolor paper boasts a sturdy, protective black cover sheet; remove it and find that each pristine sheet of textured paper has been securely fastened on all four sides with a strong, black pH-neutral adhesive that also aids in shape-retention. Painting with your paper still on the block lets you easily correct liquid media mistakes repeatedly without warping or buckling as the paper remains perfectly flat while adhered to the block. Not only are these watercolor supplies durable, but they are also versatile. Arches can be used as more than just watercolor painting paper; this exquisite, thick paper functions well with all wet techniques such as ink, gouache, and acrylic painting as the cotton fibers adapt to whatever medium you use to craft your work. With 13 sizes available in blocks of 20 sheets and a 140lb (300gsm) weight, this is the ideal painting paper for artists. Arches cold press watercolor paper contains no optical brightening agents (permanent in accordance with ISO 9701). When it comes to high-end consistency and variety, you'll find the exceptional quality you seek within the premium papers at Arches. ## Features - Prized Paper - The long fibers in Arches natural white 100% cotton watercolor paper provide timeless beauty and an inimitable touch; this rich paper is available in 13 sizes and 3 revered textures: cold press, hot press and rough - Superior Strength - A cylinder mold process distributes cotton fibers evenly to provide exceptional resistance to scratching and erasing without tearing or linting; it allows our cold pressed watercolor paper to slacken uniformly when wet for outstanding control - Exquisite Quality - Glued on all sides to preserve paper integrity, Arches cold press watercolor block boasts a protective cover sheet and pH-neutral paper with a harmonious natural grain and no optical brightening agents - Exclusive Gelatin Sizing "to the Core" - Arches water color paper is the only art paper in the world to be gelatin sized "to the core"; it increases the luster and transparency of colors while preventing paints from penetrating into the paper and makes blending, overlay or paint removal easy, wet or dry - Premium Art Papers Since 1492 - After five centuries, the Arches philosophy remains the same: to make the best papers and enable you to produce your finest works while guaranteeing they will last as long as our papermaking heritage ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B01DIKVSPY | | Best Sellers Rank | #49,174 in Toys ( See Top 100 in Toys ) #128 in Watercolor Paper | | Brand Name | Arches | | Color | White | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars (3,200) | | Global Trade Identification Number | 03700417114631, 03700417950628 | | Included Components | Arts, Crafts and Sewing^Painting and Drawing^watercolor-paper | | Item Dimensions L x W | 41L x 31W centimeters | | Item Type Name | Arches Watcol Block 12X1620Sht 140Lb C. | | Item Weight | 2.45 Pounds | | Manufacturer | Arches | | Manufacturer Part Number | A1795062 | | Material Type | Cotton | | Model Number | A1795062 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Package Size Name | 4L US | | Paper Dimensions | 31 x 41 cm | | Paper Finish | Watercolor | | Paper Weight | 20 | | Recommended Uses For Product | water paint | | Sheet Count | 20 | | Style | Cold Press | | Target Audience | Artist's | | UPC | 499995396104 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Arches - **Colour:** White - **Material:** Cotton - **Paper Dimensions:** 31 x 41 cm - **Paper finish:** Watercolor ## Images ![ARCHES WC BL 140CP 12X16 20SH - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61EGoAZdo2L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size, Style** options. ## Frequently Bought Together - Arches Watercolor Paper Block, Cold Press, 12" x 16", 140 pound - Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolor 15ml Paint Tube, Ultramarine Blue (284600106), 0.5 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) - Daniel Smith 284600065 Extra Fine Watercolor 15ml Paint Tube, Payne's Gray, 0.5 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.it/products/320565994-arches-wc-bl-140cp-12x16-20sh](https://www.desertcart.it/products/320565994-arches-wc-bl-140cp-12x16-20sh) --- *Product available on Desertcart Italy* *Store origin: IT* *Last updated: 2026-10-31*
