Great strings, ignore the negative reviews.
I've had zero problems with these great string. I'm a fan all the way. The people talking about breakage and not staying in tune simply don't know how to string guitars. When you string ANY guitar you need to lube the saddles and the nut. They're clearly not doing that which is why they're breaking. Also when you put new strings on you need to take a few, literally 2 or 3 seconds, one or two times on the way up to let the stretching metal strings cool down. Pause for 2 seconds. When you stretch metal it induces heat. That's simple physics. As you're tightening the strings just pause for 2 seconds, even give a gentle blow, then proceed. Let that teeny tiny heat dissipate. This is a truth about every string you ever put on your guitar. These strings rule. Buy them, just know how to string a guitar. Lube, lube lube. Lube the nut and lube the saddle/saddles.

Perfect Nashville Set
Phosphor bronze EJ's are classic go-to budget strings. I love their sound right out of the package. I used to work at a world-renowned instrument shop and we'd send a pack of EJ's home with every new acoustic purchase, can't go wrong. Their tone doesn't hold up as long and they don't hold up to abuse as well as my go-to set that I use on my main instrument, but I always recommend these for folks on a budget or who don't really know what they're looking for. That said, for Nashville tuning you're largely dealing with unwound strings (only one string is wound phosphor bronze). The difference compared to higher end strings is far less significant. Also, you're string up for Nashville so you're either 1.) Gearing up for a recording session or 2.) trying to find something interesting to do with a spare guitar. For either use these are 100% the set to go with. If you're looking at these reviews to figure out whether you want to try Nashville tuning on your second guitar - yes you do! It's a neat sound and fun to play around with, can add an interesting depth to your recordings, and I even have a guy in our band playing one on a few tunes at a show this Friday. It's worth a couple of bucks to try it out.

Will not hold tune, break for no reason
I really hoped these strings were as good as some of the reviews made them out to be. At the price paid it seemed like a great buy. BUT, these strings are junk. They will not hold tune at all. I let them stretch overnight, still would not tune. I let them stretch overnight again, still would not tune, I was using a digital tuner. Suddenly the third string broke while I was trying to tune another string. I figured sometimes one string will break, but the next day the second string broke while I was trying to get the sixth string in tune. At this time I realized I was never going to get these strings in tune and that they would probably all break. I had order 2 packages, so I was using the second set to replace the one that had broken. I am returning both sets. Don't waste your money. These strings would not be a bargain if they were free.

Some of the Best
I've been playing guitar for 25 years. I've tried hundreds of strings. Countless different setups. These have been my favorite for the past few years. I very highly recommend them.

Bravo D'Addario

These strings sound and play great - Use for Nashville Tuning
Excellent set of special gauge strings. Fit these onto your 6 string Acoustic Guitar to give a 12 string sound. Why? This is called 'Nashville Tuning', and is used by many session players in recording studios to double track a guitar part. I guess it started out in Nashville and the name stuck. Try it out when double tracking an acoustic guitar part in the recording studio. Pan a std stringed guitar to the right and this Nashville stringed guitar to the left for example. Or if playing live, then 2x players play the same parts, with one of them on a 'Nashville stringed' guitar. It sounds awesome. The 1st & 2nd strings are standard, while the 3rd 4th 5th & 6th Strings are taken from a 12 string guitar set. They are thin and tune an Octave Up from standard 6 string guitar tuning. These strings sound and play great on my 47 year old Yamaha acoustic guitar!
