Model # SRD0FV4. Product of Thailand. Assembled in Thailand. The very small almost unnoticeabale bits of fabric they put on the sides must be serving a purpose that I am yet to find out. Aesthetically they hardly make a difference. Good finish and color with a white underbelly. (+ves) - Incredibly small, just a bit bigger and almost the same thickness as a matchbox. - Good on price as compared to other brands (-ves) - Received 2 cables, USB-USB & USB-C-type. Just like the drive, the cables were incredibly short too, about the length of 3 finger. - I got around 460GB of free space instead of 500GB which was a big disappointment since the main reason of buying this is storage space and this feels like being shortchanged. In any case I decided to keep it because it would be far more damaging to lose 1TB of data rather than 460GB. Endurance and durability, we shall see. I had a Seagate HDD for the last 10 years and I am expecting this to last along similar lines if not more.

I'm trying to use my Seagate One Touch SSD with 500gb storage on my windows 11 as well as Mac book. However, the drive is not detected. It doesn't even show the light on the drive.

I initially bought the Samsung T7 which frustrated the hell out of me. I couldn't get past just the install phase, it was so complicated. Returned it and got the OneTouch SSD. Install was SUPER easy, formatting to AFPS worked first time. Super fast, and smaller than the T7 - you literally can fit this in your pocket WITH your phone.

Ich nutze sie als Arbeitsplatte für meine laufenden Fotos des Jahres. Kann mich nicht beklagen über die Performance. Nebensache: Das Mylio Abo hab ich ausprobiert. Hmm... Von der Sache her echt cool. Leider ab dem 3 Gerät unüberschaubarer Datenaustausch. Die App auf dem Rechner als Hauptdatenbank drehte irgendwann völlig durch und hörte garnicht mehr auf zu synchronisieren. Ich hatte das Gefühl, dass das Tool nicht gut mit mehr als 2 Geräten klar kommt. MacBook als Hauptdb. iPhone und iPad wurden synchronisiert. Da man die HauptDB auch nicht auf eine externe Platte auslagern kann, führte dies dazu, dass ich das Programm schnell wieder deinstallieren musste, weil keines meiner Geräte in der Lage ist, die komplette mylio-Datenbank auf der Hauptplatte abzulegen.

This review is for the 1 TB variant. It was quite a surprise to open the box: The drive is *tiny*. (See photo with a 20-rupee note for scale.) Pros: → Like I said, it’s tiny. → Transfer speeds: I don’t know about USB ___, but with my USB 2.0 interfaces, the speed is close to the theoretical maximum. → This is not a pro—but rather, an anti-con: 931 GB is available for use, which is exactly what I expected. Some people expect a full 1,024 GB, though—but disks always afford less free space than advertised (do a simple search for why this happens). → If you’ll use the drive for backup, the backup software—which you can download for free once you register the product—has a clean interface. There are free alternatives for backup software, of course, so this a small pro. → The price is lower than you should expect, considering it’s a Seagate. Cons: → The cable is as short as the drive is tiny (see photo)—but this can be a pro if you have too many cables on your desk! → SSDs and HDDs are both always slower when connected to a USB hub rather than directly to the laptop or desktop—with the speed ratio being about 1.5:1. With this drive, though, the difference is more like 2:1. This *really* shouldn’t matter at all, but well, it is a small negative.

SSD is amazing and performs well too, it does the job as described in its description no false promises by the company. I was really very confused while making a purchase for the external SSD, gone through and compared all the competitors in the segment and zeroed it down to seagate nevertheless to say this was a great decision. Size of the SSD is really really impressive it is smaller than the wallet we carry and thinner than that too, precisely it would be somewhere half of my palm. Very impressive. Go for it.
