Does the red light on the charging cord turn green when the battery is fully charged?

No it does not. When it’s finished charging, the light simply turns off. Just be sure to follow the guidelines printed on the USB charger: 1amp - 2amp input. I used a 2.5amp charger once and the USB plug got very warm. When used with a 1amp charger it stayed room temp. However a 2amp charger will charge the battery faster.

what about charging the batteries ?

The batteries can be recharged using a USB port. The boat comes with one connector that needs to be plugged into a USB port. The batteries take about an hour give or take to recharge. Hope that helps.

Can you use in salt water?

yes i use mine in salt water when im finish with boat i wash it in sink with freash water just outside of boat in side stays dry good boat
