It’s noisy and difficult to clean. For the first year I had a rubber band holding it together. Then I needed a wadded up paper towel between the wall and filter to quell the racket it made. Then even the paper towel didn’t work. It hummed and rattled so loud I could hear it downstairs with the door closed! Today after not even two years since purchasing it I pitched it and got another brand. I’m 72 years old and have had aquariums since I was 5. Never had problems with any filter and they all lasted several years. No need for two filter pads for a ten gallon aquarium. If you do water changes once a month or so and don’t over feed you won’t need two filter pads. Just another way to rip you off.
