Use them on all gas engines
Great as on to my gas powered engines. I put it on my snow blower, lawn mower and power washer. I like the orange color. It reminds me to look at it- easy to read screen. Simple to install and set up. No instructions or zip ties in the box- luckily the instructions are online. Use Velcro Extreme Outdoor fasteners to mount it anywhere. Hopefully the batteries last a long time.

Does exactly what it's supposed to
The hour meters are potted making them completely weatherproof. The spark pickup wire is inductive so it also does not provide a way for moisture to get to the circuit board inside the meter. Screws are provided but I've found using 3M VHB tape is a much easier to install not to mention providing an additional level of vibration protection to the meter. This meter is NOT re-settable which prevents tampering or accidental reset. This product is higher quality than I expected.

Solid little hour meters, but the โtachometerโ claim is misleading
I use a lot of hour meters, since Iโm constantly fixing up and maintaining small engines and equipment. Any time I can add an hour meter, I do, because it makes tracking maintenance so much easier. Thatโs what led me to this multi-pack: I liked the idea of having several meters on hand, and the listing advertised them as hour meters and tachometers, which sounded like a nice bonus. In practice, these turned out to be hour meters only. There is no tachometer function, at least not on the ones I received. They simply show accumulated hours. No RPM readout, no tach mode, nothing. For me, the tach feature was a โnice to have,โ not a deal-breaker, so Iโm not devastated, but it is definitely a miss and the description is misleading. That said, as hour meters, theyโre perfectly fine and actually pretty good: โข I like the color options. Being able to pick or mix different colors is genuinely useful when youโre installing these across multiple machines. It makes it easy to visually distinguish one unit from another at a glance, especially if youโre keeping a small fleet of equipment straight. โข The multi-pack offering is a big plus. If you work on a lot of engines, itโs nice to have several on hand instead of buying them one at a time. This saves time and lets you standardize your installs. โข Theyโre simple and to the point. No complicated setup, no menus to scroll through, nothing fancy to fiddle with. They count hours, and thatโs it. For maintenance tracking, thatโs really all you need most of the time. โข Installation is straightforward if you know what youโre doing. These are the kind of meters you install once and forget. As long as youโre comfortable with basic small-engine wiring or routing the sensing lead appropriately, you wonโt have any trouble. Mounting and routing are about as expected for this style of meter. So from a functionality standpoint as basic hour meters, I donโt have any real complaints. They do what I bought them for: they track hours and make it easier for me to schedule oil changes, inspections, and other routine maintenance on the equipment I work on. Where they lose a star is strictly on the misleading description: โข Theyโre advertised as hour meters and tachometers. โข In reality, they behave only as hour meters. โข If you buy them specifically expecting an RPM feature, youโre going to be disappointed. Because the tach function isnโt critical for my use, I can live with it, but it still shouldnโt be advertised as something itโs not. Honest labeling would make this a clean, easy 5/5 for what they are. Overall, Iโm satisfied enough to keep using them and would recommend them to others who just need simple hour tracking, with one important caveat: Treat these as hour meters only, and youโll probably be happy. If you need a true tach/hour combo, look elsewhere. These are good, simple hour meters with nice color and multi-pack options, but held back by a misleading โtachometerโ claim.

Great to track equipment maintenance
These are being used for various heavy duty implements that work better when maintained properly - which involved tracking hours used. As a piece of paper and pen taped to them is so old school, hour meters were ordered. They're easy to install, and work off the spark plug. Hours read appear to be accurate, and clear to view.

Do not buy.
I received these a few hours ago. One is showing no accumulated hours. The other is somehow showing over 6000 hours after running the tractor for about 15 minutes. I would like to contact the seller, but amazon got rid of that feature. I have not got around to trying the other 2 hour meters. Im at a 100% failure rate at just 2. Would not recommend.

Engine Hour Meter to Track Machine Usage
One has not used these yet, but they appear to be good quality and durable. If using them on a wood chipper be careful that they don't fall into the hopper.

Iโve been using these induction hour meters like these for over 10 years. Long enough that their internal batteries have started to die, so I needed replacements. The bad news is, yes, I donโt know how many hours were on it when it died. No worries, since I use them to time oil changes I just install a new one, change the oil and start again at 0 hours.

I had purchased 8 units on October 12, 2022. I installed them on many machines, and I am very satisfied with the final result. I performed a 6 hour test, and the result proved to be accurate . Every hour I checked and it was always right. It is a great help in recording working hours. so that the maintenance of the machines is always carried out up to date. Proved to be resistant to weather conditions, dust and even vibration. I was surprised, and recomend it.

It's a hour meter, although I found them much cheaper on AliExpress. Wish I shopped around first.
