Does it charge the galaxy s series phones?

As long as your phone has a usb c or micro usb connection charging connection, then yes. It can charge. However, as far as I know, these cables don't support Fast Charging. They will still charge, though.

No he means the part that connects to the wall charger to be usb c type like power delivery cables. But those would be useless anyway as this one and most magnetic charge cables have a max of 15w-17w charging power. C type/power delivery are capable of 60w-100w.

Is the 1.6ft cable a true 1.6ft?

It’s a short cord…I prefer the 9’ cord myself.. I haven’t measured it but eyeballing it is at least 12 inches long.
