If you think of the fine china from Wedgwood, and then think of these little works of art being used in royal households, you wouldn't be far off the mark. I find it is impossible not to associate the Harlequin Cuckoo Tea Service with an elegant tea in an equally elegant house. They have an old-world beauty and delicacy, with their delicate pastel colorings (pink, blue, peach, green). And each color has its own vision of a bird on branch, with various flowers to interest him. Fine bone china is not as delicate to handle as one might think. These are good, sturdy plates. But, most important, their beauty is almost ethereal. Finger sandwiches (think cucumber and light butter), tea, or coffee will taste just a bit better when served on these elegant, museum-quality pieces.

The tea plates are a Xmas gift for my daughter in law. She was given a cup and saucer for her birthday and she loved it, also she comes from Stoke so is sentimental about Wedgwood

I used two of these as well as the other pieces ... not too long after I got the entire set.. One of my friends came on her usual once a month lunch or brunch visit....she loves tea. You can imagine how excited I was to share this tea set with her. We had a wonderful time...we were like a couple of little girls again playing house...
