And it can be used with steel string also?** A: No truss rod. You can use low tension steel strings but you would need to make some adjustments to the bridge and nut to avoid intonation problems. Honestly the nylon ones it comes with are fine and still maintain that banjo sound. **Q: On a scale of 1-10, 1 being like a ukulele and 10 like a banjo, how does it sound?** A: 8 = banjo. Can sound more like a banjo if you like picking and/or use a thumb pick or finger picks. I've had mine for a year and prefer playing it, over several ukuleles (Waterman soprano travels very well but high action, Kala tenor uke has lovely sound, 1965 Decca soprano has good carry and looks cool.) This Kmise banjo-uke has better action, good sound, downright fun to play. So affordable! **Q: Does ksime make a left handed version. ??** A: Same one, just restring it upside down. **Q: How low is the action? As in how easy it is to push down the strings on the first fret?** A: Very easy to push down strings on first fret. Mine has a 1/16” gap between fretboard and strings on the 1st fret and gradually becomes 1/8” gap at the 12th fret. This is a surprisingly well built instrument. I have this and a kala banjolele and they are comparable. The kala is sweet but the kmise has a more twangy banjo sound which I prefer at times. Never played before so didn't want to spend a lot. I have been very happy. It needed new strings and the frets had to be smoothed on the sides. It stays in tune. Sound quality is good. Quality of actual banjo is good. Plays a little flat on some frets. If you can find someone who works on banjos should be an easy fix. I am very happy. Discovered I like playing and I am upgrading This Christmas.
