Just hand wash and dry with the cork band on. I imagine this is to prevent stressing the cork. Frequently removing/replacing the band might be what's causing the cork breakage several reviewers seem to be experiencing. **Q: Are they completely leakproof? Ie can you turn it upside down?** A: No, it is not even remotely leakproof. Liquid seeps under the lid and dribbles out every time you take a sip. I have ruined many shirts because of these blasted cups. They are a waste of money. **Q: Will this for in most cup holders?** A: Yes it fits in all sorts of cup holders.
